I have to admit seeing the Kraken jerseys on the ice like this, it looks rather lower league. Like an American League team or a Junior team. I think it's the colors, it just doesn't work(IMO).

Kraken will definitely not be a walk in the park! I hope we don't see the same story as we saw with Buffalo and Sharks...

Any of you guys saw the Pens's 7th goal. Guentzel has maybe 4 inches of his skate in the crease.
Pens scores good goal
Gallagher scores ... NOPE he's in the crease.

In both situation the goalie played deep and had 0 intention of challenging the shot.

Bush league rules once again!!!

Was Guentzel's ass and arm pressed directly ontop of the goalie inside the crease?

Gallagher's skate wasn't the issue, it was the rest of his body that was inside the crease and on top of Andersen.

Doesn t really matter, if you are in the blue paint you prevent the goalie from HIS area to stop the puck.. but then again last year the Jets player knocked down Allen's glove a few seconds before the puck went in glove side and the goal was good.... then you had Gallagher who had 2 times to fall and get up but Murray was staying down and that goal was disallowed. Pretty evident patern.

Just saw the embelishment penalty on Stutzle ahahah, for the first in his career he gets called for it and it was probably the only time he didn't flop like a pancake on the ice. Pure Irony!!!

It's one of the most visible problems with NHL reffing. Refs get down on certain players and call against them in every situation. The refs have decided Gallagher is a dirty player who interferes with goaltenders, and they call him for it whether he does or not. He was caught on camera once this year pushing a goalie but it's the first time I can remember him doing something in the crease other than getting whaled on.

It's sort of weird because visibly dirty players, like Marchand, get the benefit of the doubt, but then they have a mean, vindictive, owner who will get petty with refs who piss him off.

Maybe the refs are really good and they went over the game tape in detail and Marchand's antics come off better, while Gallagher is constantly throwing cheap shots we don't see from a distance. I'd be a little surprised...

The other main issue with reffing is that they have always been pretty aggressively pro-goon, but a lot of that is based on a belief it sells tickets. It does keep a lot of old people around, but most of the younger people I know are really not impressed by fighting on the ice. You're not going to out-violence the MMA guys, no point in getting into that competition.

Just sort of hit me about Carolina, Dundon has always been cheap with everyone, let people go over relatively small money gaps, and negotiated for months for small amounts. There must be a lot of seriously pissed off people who changed jobs because he wouldn't spend who now know that he'll spend big money for stupid ego trips.

Players are allowed to be in the crease as long as they are not impairing the goalie’s ability to move freely within his crease or defend his goal. In Pittsburgh’s 7th goal neither of that was the case and that’s why it was a good goal.
