Who had Evan Rodrigues as a key this series? The playoffs are so much about depth. Florida has a lot of guys who can score.

Not being great enough to carry the Oilers and all their flaws doesn't make you a bad player. It's not like he would have issues to earns his paycheck on a well rounded team.

Yeah it's easy to blame individual players... but Edmonton just isn't built well enough. Florida on the other hand is just a very good team. They also don't give up much space in front of the net.

Edmonton has to win the next game to have any shot now. They will probably need more than one goal to do that.

Montreal played much better against Tampa than Edmonton does against Florida and we sucked hard.

Not sure why Mcdavid would stay in this shit ass team when he goes UFA.
Also Draisailt is nothing without Mcdavid

I wouldnt even give 12m for 7 years if he asked to come in Montreal. Dudes such a loser

Even if he signs elsewhere, it's still a gamble. With the money he's going to get, signing with a contender is nearly impossible.

I’m not even sure if the Bolts from that year beat these Panthers. It would be an absolute dogfight.
Absolutely. They don't have a mega star like McDavid or MacKinnon, but much like the Knights and the Blues, they're a very solid and deep team with a great structure that is backed by great goaltending. It's very hard to beat teams that are zoned in like that.

That 6 on 4 opportunity by the Oilers was awful. Bouchard had a bad game. Draisaitl isn't doing shit. Rest of the team is mediocre.

They don't play til Thursday, so Edmonton has 2 days to regroup. Next game is a must win.
Florida good team. If have good off season could build a dynasty

I think we may see Draisaitl and Ekblad each get a game. Drai for the forearm to Barkov, Ekblad for the choke-hold on Bouchard.

The series isn't over but Edmonton's depth needs to take several steps forward. You can't win a series with two players, no matter how good they are. Florida has killers on every line and the Oilers have no answer for it.

First game: Oilers were flying and Florida got lucky and Bob. Second game: Panthers adapted; they clogged the neutral zone and never let the Oilers take their speed up the O-zone. Oilers were dominated because of it. Great defensive game by the Panthers. Oilers will need to break up this trap. If not, they’re toast in 5.

On point. To be honest I'm disapointed by the Oilers in the second game. One thing I mentionned during the game is that they are good to enter the zone and run in circle, but they don't shoot. They always try to make a perfect play.

I keep thinking of how many shots we had against Tampa in the finals in the first few games. One of them we had 40 some shots, but it just seemed like every time Tampa had the chance they cashed in on it. Every mistake we made, they made us pay.

Game one set the tone. We basically got curb stomped by them. I remember four guys basically pinballing Gallagher in front of the net and him being all bloodied. Huge mismatch. I was so hoping for an upset but it was not meant to be. She many weapons in their side, Kucherov, Stamkos, Point… they had like five players who scored more in the postseason than our leading scorer.

Here
It was deflected by Ekholm, I believe. How the hell did Oilers get to the final with an AHL calibre defense?
Canucks should’ve won their series but going in with your 3rd string goalie kinda screws you.

Dallas… I have no idea how they lost… last game they were up 3-1 ratio in shots for. Didn’t get the breaks.

Their third line was the difference IMO. If no LTIR, we have a chance at #25.

That choke hold made me lol... Bouchard should watch a couple of jiu jitsu videos and I bet he will before next game. Wasn't much of a choke to begin with...

Paul Maurice has been coaching longer than ray bourqur went without a cup too. He coached Hartford that's how long he's been in the league. Florida is the first time he's had a very strong roster, as they kept getting derailed in Winnipeg by guys asking out or flat out walking away like buff. Since 95-96 he only sat out two years from coaching, the 05-06 and 12-13 seasons. Lost in the finals twice. Third attempt now, definitely as good of a story as it gets for a head coach.
