Only way I take Schaefer is if we are picking 6th or later and he somehow slides that far.

Which he never would.

Love Schaefer but I'm only taking him if you know Korchinski isn't in the long term plans and you deal him for a young forward. Otherwise I'm not doing it.

Give me Misa. Love Hagens but another small, skilled forward in the pipeline would be rough.
Right now it's looking like Misa or McQueen.

McQueen injury might hurt him. Basically the same back issue that Cayden Lindstrom had. I think Lindstrom's uncertainty now is going to hurt McQueen. A big guy with back issues this early is a huge red flag for me. I hope the Hawks stay away.

Oh man, I had no idea that was his injury :(

I think the Hawks might have to get a top 3 pick to get Misa.

Gladly class of ´25 has them. Don´t sleep on Anton Frondell.
Frondell might be really good but he doesn't fit the Hawks need for size. You can't draft for size that high though. It would be kinda annoying if they got him or Hagens, ngl, but you have to take the best player. Right now I wish the Hawks had pulled off the trade with CBJ, regardless. I like Demidov more than anyone other than Martone and Misa, and I don't think the Hawks are likely to get either of them.

You thought Misa was small and now you think Frondell is small? Do you study any of these players? Since when is 6'0, 190+ pound player small?

Frondell is a terrific prospect. I think he's a step below Carlsson but he's very good. And you can never go wrong with a strong 2 way Swedish centermen

I got Misa confused with his brother. I know that Frondell is 6-0 190. Reichel is also 6-0.
My definitions:

5-10 or shorter small
5-11 to 6-1 average
6-2+ is someone with size.
The Hawks forwards are mostly small, with a few average guys. Boisvert is the only higher end guy with size.

It's part of the reason I wanted the Hawks to take Musty instead of Moore.

Assuming we don't win the lottery, it will not be an exercise in who is the best prospect or even best fit or positional need. It will be picking the best available player with the options we have on the board. That said, I will be ecstatic if we end up with any of Hagens, Martone or Misa and I would have a real hard time not taking Schaefer if he is on the board and the other 3 were gone. Of all the LHD in our pipeline/roster, Vlassic is the only sure thing to be above a 3rd pairing guy until proven otheriwse.

Frondell is 6ft1 and 190lbs. That's nearly the size of Patrice Bergeron now, and Frondell is a teenager.

His talent might hold him back, I don't know, I haven't studied him enough, but his size shouldn't be an excuse if he doesn't work out. He's got decent size.

Our prospect pool looks god awful right now for being handed Bedard and drafting 20 players in the top 3 rounds the past 3 years. Hawks need to hit on these two draft picks or just fire Davidson. Might be better off trading a pick or two for some real talent

No it doesn't, stop being melodramatic.

Lev is handling himself fine in Rockford; he should be the youngest D in that entire league this season. KK is also young and working out some kinks. Rinzel looks really solid. We've got a lot of other D that have NHL potential (Allan, EDM, Phillips, Kaiser).

Nazar is playing great for the Hogs. Compare his season so far to Logan Stankoven's last year, when LS was the same age as Nazar is now (also comparable size wise). Stankoven is a contender for the Calder this season. Moore hasn't been amazing, but he's been fine. Slaggert, Dach, Savoie have all been noticeable for Rockford.

Goalies suck, I grant you that.

Hawks need to draft another top line guy and things start falling into place real quick, especially if Nazar hits.

Totally agree. Add a Martone or Misa to the mix and the Hawks look really great on the prospect front (including players like Bedard and the young D on the NHL roster into the mix) with all the other Forwards that at that point essentially amount to "depth" between Reichel, Nazar, Moore, Boisvert, Vanacker, Dach, Savoie, Hayes, Slaggert, Kantserov, Misiak, Ludwinski, Lardis, Thompson, Felcmann, Spellacy, Mustard, Pridham

Add a legit top line forward this draft, sign Rantanen to be another one, and then I'd argue we are very well off ticking all the boxes (except goalies).

Best player in this upcoming draft is a defenseman.

If the Hawks luck into FOA "draft a forwardsz cuz wez gotz defensemanz!!!".......

And this is why the Hawks suck and will continue to suck.

He got slow start to this season because of knee surgery. Now he has played five games with Djugården´s men in Allsvenskan and has 1+1 so far. His size won´t be an issue at all. Frondell has tremendous puck skills and plays very well rounded game. Only thing that worries me are those injuries but many sees him second best center after Hagens for next draft.

EPRinkside and others won´t agree with you. We don´t know what the outcome will be with those prospects. Development takes time and every player has different paths. I understand the frustration here but it is way too early to make conclusions how these kids pan out or not.

Kyle Davidson´s legacy depends heavily on drafting but that remains to be seen. And it is not just Davidson but the whole scouting crew.

Just look how Simon Nemec or David Jiricek are doing? Would you consider them as busts? I don´t think so either.

So Schaefer is a 3rd pairing Dman

It’s not proven otherwise
