Career high 25 wins LMFAO.
He needs to show he can give Boston about 40 wins as a true #1 before he gets the money he wants.

And maybe convincingly win a playoff series against a non Leafs squad

Goalies who sign the most premium contracts have a history of being workhorses.

Swayman hasn't been a workhorse, but the counter argument is that he hasn't had the opportunity to show it either. This is a tricky situation, and it sounds like swayman is pretty set in his ways.

Either way, shesterkin must be loving this.

He won't get 10M$ but he has all the leverage to negociate with Ullmark gone. Great for him and let's hope he screws the Bruins with a big contract for which he won't deliver!
100% bruins shot then selves in the foot. He seems pretty business oriented and doesn't look like he'll be giving them discount lol.

What would be funny is if a team offer sheet Swayman. Unlikely considering what he is asking, but still.... lol
Bruins can match they have 8 millions of cap space. Don't think anyone would offer him more than 6 he's unproven as a number 1 with a bad backup. He has only three seasons of experience as a number 1B/1A.

Agreed, but that would piss them off. Imagine someone made an offer KK-style (6M/1 yr). They would match but then they would be in a similar situation next year :)

And anything that piss the Bruins is a win :)

Dunno 1y 6 millions might not be as bad as you think for the Bruins. They have the cap space this year. They don't have any significant contract to sign next summer outside of Marchant but Marchant will 37 so very unlikely to be greedy and ask for a major raise. So that would be their only significant contract to sign to a player in his prime. This is the last year of Mike Reilly buyout so that will bive tham 1,3 millions more cap space next year along with any increase of the cap. This would give them one year to evaluate Swayman as a real number 1 before making a decision and they will have around 16 to 18 millions of cap space to sign Marchand and Swayman.
