No you’ve been missing the point for 2 years. You don’t get to decide who is eligible for draft in a certain year, you make the best out of it and between Slaf, Nemec, Cooley, Wright, Jiricek, Gauthier it’s a wash so far with a slight edge for Slaf.

I was at that game in Halifax when he did that. I was in disbelief during the 2 hour drive home.

It is.

What it is not though is having any impact on the evaluation of our own prospects. Development is not linear. It's not rare at all that a player will be better than another one d+2 but then d+4 the role are reversed. Like i always say wait for the players to be over 22 before coming to any conclusion.

D+2 Monahan did 31 goals and 62 points while MacKinnon did 14 goals and 38 points. D+3 Monahan did 27 goals and 63 points while MacKinnon did 21 goals and 52 points. If you look stickily at D+2 and d+3 Monahan looked like the best player or at least equally as good. While i like Monahan a lot even without injuries he would not be even remotely close to MacKinnon today.

I don't mind people glossing over Michkov. What i do mind is people using Michkov to bring down our own prospects under the age of 23. Fans are not patient enough.

In a game that was dominated by Vegas where the CH was not generating anything at all. People don't call him Marc "La Gaffe" for no reason. HOF quality goalie but had the tendency to crap the bed at the worst possible moment.
