Happy for Michkov! Generational talent
European players don't dream about winning the cup growing up because games aren't accessible. No five year old German is watching the NHL at 3AM. They care about national team and money. Edmonton gave money. Tons of it.I'm very surprised that Draisaitl resigned with them.
You think he met with us for fun?We know it happened just like a lot of things in the NHL that we'll never get proof of.
we skipped on that mindbogglingHappy for Michkov! Generational talent
We really don't. You're completely making stuff up. Habs had a meeting with him, why would he even attend the meeting if he wanted to avoid us like the plague? The people making every excuse possible, making stuff up, and downplaying him are just as annoying if not more than the people who talk about what a catastrophic mistake we made in every thread. We know it happened just like a lot of things in the NHL that we'll never get proof of.
So what? I presume he met with a lot of teams. Doesn't mean anything. He could have told them he wouldn't sign with them. You think he met with us for fun?
It would be easy for management to say he didn’t want to play here if that was the case.
Well this is an outrageous claim. Even if what you're saying is true, every other team would also give him that contract if not more.European players don't dream about winning the cup growing up because games aren't accessible. I think Mcdavid walks if they miss playoffs this year.
He probably took the big money and to stay with his buddy McDavid. McDavid could move on and Draisatl could ask to be traded to wherever McDavid goes.Well this is an outrageous claim. Even if what you're saying is true, every other team would also give him that contract if not more.
Yep, sadly we can't win em allwe skipped on that mindboggling
Even with Demidov, passing on Michkov was likely a huge mistake. I’d love to have both, which we could have. As for Michkov possibly not signing with us and staying in the KHL . . . ok, believe that if you want to, but . . . no way. Hey, we all make mistakes, even HuGo.We really don't. I'm happy we got Demidov and can enjoy watching Michkov in the NHL, time will tell who the better player is/if we made the right decision.
That’s just dumb.Im sure Michkov would rather play in the shithole of Philadelphia over Montreal
lmao
Michkov dream was to play in the great city of Philly
Can only get 8 years from Edmonton and probably knows he'll be too washed in seven years for another big deal. Even if you think another team would go above 14 the extra year makes his deal like 16aav over a seven year deal.Well this is an outrageous claim. Even if what you're saying is true, every other team would also give him that contract if not more.
Hey, we all make mistakes, even HuGo.
It seemed that way in the behind the scenes video.I red a few times, not sure if here or on Habs reddit that Gorton wanted Michkov but the scouts wanted Reinbacher. Would love to know if that was truly the case.
The only players with any actual leverage after they are drafted are American born NCAA players. They actually can choose their NHL teams if they’re patient enough. No talented Russian will waste their prime in the KHL. They will lose way too much money.Michkov was supposed to stay in Russia for 10 years. What is he doing in NA?
That's what he said. And that is a fact. Whther it was just to get Utah to pass on him or it went further who knows.Im sure Michkov would rather play in the shithole of Philadelphia over Montreal
lmao

Russians do. They can stay in the KHL until they are traded. The only players with any actual leverage after they are drafted are American born NCAA players. They actually can choose their NHL teams if they’re patient enough
They drafted an Austrian. If his name was Maverick Michel from Trois-Rivières, they would've drafted him.
Or he was just trying to see if there was consensus on the pick.It seemed that way in the behind the scenes video.
No assurance they’ll ever be traded. That's what he said. And that is a fact. Whther it was just to get Utah to pass on him or it went further who knows.
