I mean, I never wrote off the Isles. I've seen too much of them to do that. Montreal's a bit different because even though they've made some noise in the past, it never got as far as this. This is why hockey's great.

I'm a weirdo, but I'm hoping that Tampa wins another cup so that the possibility that teams absolutely eviscerate them in the offseason increases. I still think that our team is good enough to compete on their level once a few, ahem, excess pieces are shipped off on their end. And, of course, we can add another year of development for Svech/Necas/Aho and (hopefully) an extended Dougie to take our team to yet another level.

I love the way that Tampa plays, TBF. That's the play style that I hope our boys can develop into.

Some of their fans are cool but as I said earlier, I've gotten into it with them about our team and other teams like ours on the relocation rumor front moreso than any other fanbase, so it's hard for me to get excited for them.

But, the players win, so I root for the player.

Valid reason. I just don't think that will ever happen. If we win it'll be with a different formula unless we develop our own Hedman and Vasilevskiy. We don't and probably won't ever have their current forward depth either especially since we can't do LTIR shenanigans.
