funny 3-4 yrs ago hitchcock was like a curse word here...now people want him.

I think people just wanted to move away from the more defensive style. It also appeared that Hitchcock had washed out of the league too.

Well Lemaire too...they're both practically the same coach only Lemaire's a little more personable. Thing is now:

A) expectations are less, so people don't care right now if 'that style can't win in the playoffs'
B) the game's returning to a pre-lockout type of defense anyway
C) they don't have the talent to play the Pete/Sutter in '09 type style.

So what you're saying is..... #Trap :sarcasm:

Does Paul Maurice have a long-term deal with Winny?
I like him and Lavy, assume Lavy is locked up though.

Saw Maurice doing NBC work the yr devs went to the finals and sounded like he had an in with mngmnt and he picked them at beginning to go all the way

Like either one of them compared to what has been thrown around

Maurice has 3 years left.

He and DeBoer are like best friends so he had a connection

Unlikely Stevens is the next coach, either. I think we'll be getting some totally new blood.

Devils were ranked #2 in 5on5 GA60. I think Stevens is going to stick around. My money is on Shero picking up on of the big named HC.

Hope Stevens still sticks around. But I m still onboard for guy boucher or ken hitchcock (if the blues get rid of him). Wouldn't be overly thrilled if he just reconnected with bylsma but there would be worse options.

Maybe Julien will come back if he's let go in Boston, since Lou technically isn't running things anymore. :sarcasm:

Ya Lou is still here and Stevens did a good job. Unless someone else offers him HC job he will and should stay on as an assistant.

Definitely new blood at HC (Hitch could still happen).

Don't really want Disco Dan, but would give it a chance begrudgingly.

I hope and pray that Tippett is available for us to get and we keep Stevens as an assistant. Second choice would be Boucher.

Am I the only one that wants Hitchcock more than Tippett?

I'll take Tippett, but I'm skeptical of him. Arizona gives up a lot of shots against. Even in that year they won the Pacific and went to the WCF. They got a monster year and an unsustainable one out of an average goaltender, who was a career backup and even a third stringer and waived just the year before.

No I think Hitch would be perfect, but I'm also back on the potential Julian train since we have a new GM.

Not a fan of Tippett either. I would much rather have Hitch or Boucher.

I'd probably prefer Tippett to Hitch, but then I haven't been a fan of Hitch for a while. Although more often than not he gets his teams into the playoffs.

With Shero, I have no idea what to expect in terms of what kind of coach he's going to be looking for. Which is both kind of exciting and potentially terrifying.

I believe Hitch would be a disaster.
