He's not a top prospect or anything but it still sucks for him. Hopefuly it won't turn into long term health issues.

To be fair, this doesn't say he has it, but 13 guys on the team do. Odds are 50/50 that he would have it. Still a shame to not get to play. I hope for him he is not one of 13.

Okay, so according to this, it was a player on Karpat that tested positive and they played KalPa a few days ago. So players on KalPa were placed in quarantine as a safety precaution. So at this moment, there are no positives on KalPa:

Most likely those thirteen have some kind of symptoms, very minor ones even. They are taking this situation quite seriously and wont risk anything just to be able to play (and it's the right thing to do, of course).

Or they may have looked at the shifts and saw that only those 13 were on the ice at the same time that the guy from Kärpät was (although it just came out that they've found another infected player in Kärpät).

And as an update I just read the article about this. They actually did look at the WiseHockey data from that game and based on that found out those 13 exposed players.

I bet that the company that developed the WiseHockey didn't plan it to be used like this, but luckily it's possible.

After having to quarantine due to exposure from a Karpat player a week and a half ago, KalPa is playing today at 12:30. Leskinen is in his usual spot at 1RD:

Any hopes of him reaching the NHL?

What's his playstyle like? Seems to be 5'11, must be puck-moving and smooth skater?

he can be a bubble guy that fills in for a game or two but i don't see a lot of upside there and we will have lot of depth in the coming years which will make it that much harder for him.

He's got some decent offense but his defensive game needs a good bit of work.

Leskinen scores his first goal of the season on the PP to put KalPa up 5-1 just before the 2nd period was over.

He now has a goal and an assist so far today.

He's playing his 6th game of the season, he now has 5 pts (1G, 4A).

Good for him.

Leskinen was signed when MB was going after speed, even if the players were small - example Weal, Cousins, etc... With the signing of Edmundson and MB declaring one of his boxes was to get a big dman, and Mete's very low cap hit on only a 1 year deal, it looks like MB is focused on big dmen now.

Will be hard for Mete and Leskinen to make it.

Which by HF Habs standards qualifies him to play next to Shea Weber this coming year.

Add PMD to the offseason completed checklist MB.

He's KILLING it this offseason.

Edit - in related news, Kotkaniemi hasn't scored in 2 games so add top 6C to MB offseason to do list.

Being committed to specific type of player based on who won the cup is a recipe for failure (which is why MB does it).

Leskinen is probably a bubble prospect at this point but nice to see him play well.

I don't think he's currently a top 25 prospect for us after the most recent batch. He's a guy that can fill in here and there but don't care for his defensive game
He's second pair level in Laval at this point. Ouellet is first pair level and just about 7th dman on an NHL team ( at best) so there you go I guess !

Depends on what the plan is, hopefully Ouellet is back at LD, they go with Ouellet Brook and Olofsson Fleury as the top 2 pairs, Leskinen can play the 3rd pair, as he's not better then the other 2 LD's but at least he brings the offense.

Oh big time, Laval really needs Ouellet or if not him then a 1D that can make a similar impact.

of course he'll be there, I just didn't want him at RD again like they did last year. With 8 D in front of him, unless a trade, hopefully he doesn't see the NHL roster since as you say Laval badly needs him.

Does he have a chance to make the big team when play starts again? Seems like we don't have many players of this profile ready to step in, especially if Norlinder is still a year or two away.
