Does he have a chance to make the big team when play starts again? Seems like we don't have many players of this profile ready to step in, especially if Norlinder is still a year or two away.

sure if we get crushed with injuries,

Weber
Petry
Chia
Edm
Romanov
Mete
Kulak
Juulsen
Ouellet
Olofsson
Fluery
Brook
Leskinen

give or take a spot.

No, there's a YouTube channel that posts game highlights of every Liiga game.

I had Instat a few months ago but my trial expired.

is it worth the money, and how pricy is it, i've never heard of them but would love to get to watch Liiga games but have to keep my costs down since I have the NCAA and AHL to pay for plus some CHL games and this year I will likely get another hockey.tv sub.

what youtube channel as i used to just get highlights from the Liiga site but this year they are blocking them which is beyond stupid.

Instat is really expensive from what I've heard. I haven't inquired about the cost or a partnership because I just don't have the time to make it worth it.

I doubt he makes it out of camp but you never know. That's what camp is for. Wouldn't be the first time a player ups his game and steals a spot. I like that there will be a lot of competition in camp this year for the defenseman spots.

Hasn't been mentioned before, but @canadiensnation had already Tweeted about it, Leskinen's loan with KalPa had ended a week ago and he should already be back in town serving a quarantine.

Has Otto Leskinen had enough time in Laval that he would be good as a taxi squader? Or, can he use more development time in Laval?

We'll see management's take by Jan. 13.

He'll be in Laval. He'll be at camp to try and show he can crack the NHL. But aside from Weber, Petry, Chiarot, Edmundson, Romanov, Mete, and Kulak, I would say Ouellet and Fleury are ahead of him (although I also think Fleury will start in the AHL).

I think there will be at least 2 D on the taxi squad: Ouellet and someone else.

I would make the second taxi squad Dman someone who's close to being an NHLer, but who doesn't need more seasoning in the AHL. So Juulsen, Fleury, and Brook should definitely be in Laval. So to me it's between Olofsson and Leskinen.

With Chiarot out for the next month plus, I wonder if they will look at Leskinen as a call up as he's been off to a great start this year and in a a normal season he would be on pace for 38 pts. While it's only his 2nd season in North America, he has over 200 games in Liiga/Champions League play. He just turned 24 so might be time to find out what he can do.

I would rather see him build up his strength and perhaps get a look next year but with a flat cap, limited space, covid rules, it might be tough to get a replacement unless it's from a team in Canada.

Better than other options for sure but I still be concerned that's he's not had enough time to get ready for the nhl yet.

He has been solid in Laval.

Leskinen is a smooth puck carrying Dman. Can he make it up to the NHL?
Anthony Marcotte twitted yesterday that Leskinen is the most under the radar prospect in Laval and in his opinion the obvious choice for a call up.
His mobility and puck moving would be welcome but I would like to know if he can manage the physical play at the NHL level as well as on the defensive side.

he has been playing much better this season, last year it was the turnovers that really seemed to hurt him but so far this year we haven't really seen it. I suggested he could be a call up since he's older and we will need to see what we have in him. But where to put him as he needs a Chiarot, Weber type imo.

Kalle Kossila ja Otto Leskinen jokeripaitaan

Leskinen signed for 2 years with Jokerit

There you go. It was said that Leskinen was likely not returning. The fact he hadn't cracked the NHL team was something Leskinen was disappointed with (not mad at organization, just that he realized that he probably doesn't have enough to crack NHL).

Marcotte had said he got the impression during the exit interviews that Leskinen wasn't going to return.

I'm disappointed. He looked out of place in the NHL, but the circumstances were hardly ideal. The team was a tire fire with no reliable RD on the 3rd pair, who could insulate Leskinen.

That said, he had shown the ability to grow. I was hoping they'd re-sign him for two years and see if he could crack the lineup eventually.

On the other hand, there's only so much powerplay time in Laval to distribute between Leskinen, Ouellet and Schueneman, with not enough left for Brook. Plus, there are several puck movers arriving a year from now.
