If jets don’t have helleybuck they probably look a lot like us right now.

Have you seen our record when goalies save .900 or above the last two seasons? It’s pretty spectacular.

Aiden hill is a good goalie. He does what he needs to.

Yes I’ve seen the dominant stats sens have with .900 goaltending. It’s mind boggling our goalies and to a lesser extent team defence has been such trash.

I agree with most what your saying. Helly takes Jets from a bubble team to a contender.

Hill is a decent goalie, I wouldn’t say good as his .904 is same as Pitts backup Blomqvist. He gets the job done for sure. Vegas lets high danger chances like Ottawa, but they don’t have the black plague of goaltending luck Ottawa has had.

Pretty good game. Jets are a strong team. Sanderson giveaway leading to extended Jets zone time and PP was tough. Hellebuck was much better than Sogaard, had some good looks.

I know we’re not supposed to crtizie Sandy for fear he will bolt to a tax free zone in the United States but Sandy sometimes isn’t reading the play well and he has blind spots I didn’t realize were there

We need to find a partner for Hamonic on the top pair. Sanderson is horrendous

Soogard has no future here. He's so f***ing bad and small for being 6 foot 7.

Also Mark Scheiffle is a whiny little bitch

Yea, Sanderson and Kleven were abysmal. Particularly Sanderson. The worst game I have seen from him in a long time. Hamonic completely outplayed him.

We need some of our injured players to come back sooner then later especially Ullmark
Don't forget about Zub.

Sogaard is the primary reason we lost. JBD and Kleven were also dogshit today.

We only allowed 23 shots against, that's below our average. The team tried on the back end, but Sogaard just caved under pressure and even took a penalty ffs.

Having said that, the team's mental toughness is concerning. As bad as Sogaard was, the team can't rely on Ullmark to have a save percentage above .950 during a hot streak to win. They gotta lock in when the opposition plant the seeds for a comeback, let alone letting a team score 4 unanswered.

Our depth and top 6 really need to step up. No complains from Brady, Stu or Bath, but Norris really needs to step up (dude has 2 goals in his last 10 games).
I think our defensive pairs need fixing. You cannot play JBD and Kleven together on the road and expect the opponent to play his 3rd and 4th line against them. We really need to improve the 3rd pair to play against top level teams. JBD, Kleven and Hamonic are not who we need on the 3rd pair.

Sanderson doesn’t have the best awarnesss on the team but it’s easier to slam Hamonic because Dorion said he traded a 3rd when they wanted a 4thecreating all this outrage that remains today
Hamonic is deserving of criticism regardless what Dorion did.

I think this game highlighted for me the need to get another D man. Even when Zub returns.

But also we need one more forward who will spend their entire time on offense just taking away the goalie's eyes.

His cap hit next year worries me, he can’t be on the team next year (or this year TBH)
His cap hit is 0.775M next season, so it is not a major problem.

I have been saying that since the season started. Was our biggest need after goaltender.
I think we need TWO new defensemen for the 3rd pair. Hamonic will be UFA, JBD is not good enough and not developing much, and Kleven was a rookie. Kleven can stay as 7th D, but we need TWO competent 3rd pair D.

It really is though, jets get back in the game because of a bad goal

The D gets worn down because he can't freeze a puck,

He takes a penalty costing us another goal.

Goalies have a bigger impact than just the saves they make or don't, he's letting out rebounds that gave no business being let out, so our D ends up scrambling to clear instead of getting their change.

Even Forsberg would have gotten us to OT at the least.
I wasn't able to watch any of the game...but you're saying goaltending cost us the game. That sucks

What can you even say really. It was a strong effort but goaltending was the main difference. Soogard versus Hellebyuck is a hard obstacle to overcome.
D zone play requires improvement; too many chickens running around without their heads.

Why is Hamonic leaving the obvious backdoor play to cover the guy that Giroux is already covering... and why is Sogaard in net.
Truly a mind-boggling play by Hamonic.

I think Soogard's problem is that is just doesn't move fast enough. He's like a big elephant. On the Scheifele back hand, a smaller quicker goalie like Juuse Saros deflects the puck with a lightning quick arm.

Soogard is probably not always in the best position, square to the shooter. He was playing well until halfway though the second. I was thinking this might be the game that he finally breaks through but no, he falls flat once again. .

I'd say it cost us at least a point, jets are a great team so I guess you never know but they tied the game up on an absolutely terrible goal, and took a lead because of a penalty he took because he couldn't freeze a puck.

There were other factors mind you, Norris hit a post on a breakaway that would have put us up 3-0 and likely killed Amy momentum the Jets were building, and failed to score on a wide open cage, we could have finished on the chances we created to make it so that goaltending wouldn't have swing the game, but we played well enough to get points imo,
