No its more then that there is a lack of interest from fans.

There's not a lack of interest, it's just that the IMFC product has been **** for the past two years.

There's huge interest, just look at the gates they've been getting at Olympic Stadium for the Champions League games!

Aka nearly 50k will attend the finals. 35k of that being sold in the first few days after they made it into the finals.

The interest is there. Especially in the summer when the MLS is really only competing with MLB.

When IMFC was bad, trust me I am a fan, people still came out. Around 16-18k

It was very good of the supporters group to sing the National Anthem last saturday, only problem was they were not in sync with the school band that was playing it.
I expect it might have been because there was no announcement about the Canadian National Anthem, the US one was sung very well by a young lady but then she walked off the field and there was a delay for some seconds and then the supporters group started singing probably thinking there was no Canadian anthem, then about 10 seconds later up on the large screen was this school band started playing, the supporters group did not stop singing when it was obvious that the band was the official anthem player.

Otherwise the supporters group kept up their constant chanting all game and the players obviously appreciate it.

I dont know if you were watching or attending. The band was not mic'ed if they were it was not played in the supporters section. We honestly had no idea they were playing.

They only had 4000 season tickets sold last year even if you look at avg attendance its not great as for the game at the big o don't just look at that take the over all picture and its not great.

There is great concern 16000-18,000 is well below what was expected but the big issue is season ticket sales.

You're lost man. MLS is a league originally structured for teams drawing 15-20k, look at all the stadiums built in places like Dallas and Salt Lake.

16-18k is absolutely fine for MLS.

20k is usually a sell out for MLS stadiums. 16-18k is standard for a failing team. You see the same with the NHL.

Some people in Montreal are already blaming the location of the stadium, but I'll never understand that given that the Metro almost literally goes right to the door. It's is dead easy to get to and from the games.

Sure, it's nice having a stadium in a commercial district (like we have here in Ottawa) where you can walk to bars and restaurants before and after the game, but their transportation set up couldn't be better. Hockey fans going to the Canadian Tire Centre can only dream of what Impact fans have.

This. Never understood Montrealers' constant complaining about the location of Olympic and Stade Saputo....It's like 10-15 minutes on the subway from whole streets FILLED with bars.

People from Ottawa bus 45 minutes to a deserted field three times a week in the winter for chrissake. People from Montreal just aren't as hardy I guess. ;)

Anyways I was gonna maybe have to skip out on tomorrow if the Sens had made a series of it but lo and behold the more important game is suddenly at TD Place so I'll be in attendance. I really feel like we have a strong chance to get a few on FCE in the home leg and bring it home over there. We need more than a goal or two here since we play Strikers on Saturday and then right out to Edmonton next Wednesday (4 games in 2 weeks 'gulp'). Second leg will be a struggle I'm sure.

Bring on the Whitecaps! :yo:

Then there must be a lot of failing teams in MLS.

Didn't they just have their best attendance in history? Less than half of the league average above 20,000.

18.8k was there highest with this year being higher. It doesn't help when Chivas held down the league average. Take them out for NYCFC and Orlando FC and you get the current 19.2k and this is the lowpoint of the season.

So who's ditching the sens game to come watch some footy? It kills me but I'll be at the Fury game. Got my winter jacket ready going to be a cold one

Me for sure. Anyone who understands sports should know this is the more important game. Possibly the most important for the Fury all season.

Tonight, to quote Bob Cole…."everything is happening!"

I will be at the Canadian Tire Centre, perhaps watching the end of the Sens' season but hopefully not, but will be intently checking my Twitter feed for both Fury and Impact updates.

Unless we go into multiple overtimes, I should be able to watch the end of the CCL on TVASport2 (as I don't get SNWorld….good move Rogers).

No I am not when people say there is concern about the long term future of the team that's a concern and if attendance was absolutely fine I doubt you would have people making comments about the team.

Ottawa up by one.

I wonder how big the crowd is considering they are up against the Sens.

Ottawa Fury 1 Edmonton 3 Attt 2402

Ottawa got off to a dream start with Oliver scoring in the 1st minute, Ottawa kept the lead into the 2nd half, midway through 2nd Edmonton was awarded a dubious penalty but Peiser made a fantastic save to keep the lead, Ottawa had many chances but could not get the 2nd goal and they paid for it. In the 83rd min. Peiser made a good save but could not hold on to the ball and Edmonton scored on the rebound, In the 88th min a Edmonton forward robbed the ball off a Ottawa defender and tapped into the net and in the 95th min Edmonton scored their 3rd after lots of pressure from Ottawa and a missed obvious penalty call for Ottawa was turned down by the ref.

Unlike the Sens the Fury could not hold on to their 1-0 lead.

Went to the game but watched the Sens game when it was on.

There were maybe 500 people there. Fury missed a big opportunity IMO. Could have tied int he Sens game, played it on the big screen.

The turnout was embarrassing...but expected. Just stupid and shortsighted of them IMO.

MLS is a much better league, Ottawa doesn't belong in a league with Miami's ****** cousin FT Lauderdale and Edmonton. Soccer can't really take off until we play MTL and Vancouver in the MLS, it is what it is.

Cart before the horse. Why does everything always have to be 'top level' to get any support? This is a pro soccer team in a pro league. Div 2 soccer is nothing to be ashamed of; ask any European soccer fan.

Brutal, brutal result. Was at the game as well. There were a few more than 500 but yah unlucky day for a game of this magnitude.

The defensive mismanagement in the last 10 minutes....yeesh.

Worst loss in team history - not score-wise, but in terms of the momentous nature of the game and the way they lost it.

Thought it bizarre people were angry with the reffing - one penalty call for the fury makes it what, 3-2 Edmonton? That's still an unacceptable result at home. Could've been 4-1 had Peiser not made a great save on Laing's pen.

All in all, that was the worst eight minutes in club history.
