Negatives on Braeden. Has struggled to stay healthy in the past. Ok. That’s about it. One of my all-time favorite Firebirds. He’s not huge and doesn’t play a heavy game but he is far from soft. He’s just had injury issues. I hope and think those days may be over though and he rips it up for you guys. Flint needed to sell and that’s a solid return for us.

Now that we have a legit center we can at least balance out our first two lines
Pinelli-Kressler-Stoney
Foster- Gardiner- Gerrior
As OMG has said a few times and I agree I would really like to get Foster, Gardiner, Gerrior back together on a permanent basis as they had awesome chemistry last year.

As of now our third line looks like
Barlas-Lawrence-Dever ......not bad

Fourth line
Yanni -Whitehead-Kelly I like what I've seen from Yanni so I put him ahead of Korbler, Hilton

Extras: Korbler, Hilton

I suspect further changes are coming, maybe an import??? So this could change.

The first shoe dropped. The question is whether there are more shoes out there or not….

This is the type of deal I predicted Boyd would make. I felt this was as far as he would go though. Let’s see if he has the ”Killer” instinct in him or not.

If we were to add a top pairing d-Man that can quarterback the PP, we gain percentage points on offence via special teams. Right now we have Mews who makes forced decisions and Ewles who is, well, struggling. They even had Sirman on the PP tonight. That is just silly.
Well at least Sirman is better than Smyth on the pp🤷‍♂️. Love Cameron but WTF is he thinking🤬😤

What's Ottawa's draft cupboard look like after this trade? Maybe they will look to recoup some picks in another trade or two.

67`s tied 3-3 after 2

Why was Lawrence on the ice?? Got predictably outskated and led directly to the goal. Gerrior should have jumped on in that situation...Dave come on!

Right I missed that on my chart.

I n fairness, that was Pinelli’s man left alone. Pinelli went to the puck carrier when Lawrence had him on the outside.

I agree about Lawrence on the ice but we only have two centres outside of the rookie Whitehead so you gotta rotate someone.

Lawrence got beat imo, Pinelli went to him to cut off a lane to the net.

No disputing who’s man it was or why Lawrence is on the ice, but the origin of the weak own zone defending starts with employing a man-to-man structure and our only D-man on the ice(Sirman) pursuing his check “North” of the red line which creates a 2-on-2 in own zone with two forwards, one with limited size and the other limited foot speed and Donoso who is almost never aware of where the actual shooter is

A waste f an otherwise improved effort over the past three weeks

Definitely an improved effort. No doubt. But, it really shows when players are playing outside their sheltered minutes. Some simply cannot handle the added responsibility. It has become very evident.

We have a lot of OHL calibre players but many of them are #6 D-Men and depth forwards, guys that can play at this level but struggle when relied upon with more responsibility.

Ok. …now Boyd…. Please listen…
I really like the Kessler move
….since we are now buyers ……let’s not half ass it here on out…..
we are not buyers. we filled a hole and I think that is the extent that we will see anything.

On a positive note, I feel like Barlas has injected some energy into this lineup in the last few games since coming back (as long as he is on the wing and not centre).

Glad to see Sirman playing defence too, and Horner being the Dman pushed to forward

I was totally wrong about Kelly and his ceiling for this season... If he doesn't get moved hopefully he can next year become a Barlas tyoe 3rd - 4th line player,

6 loses in a row heading into trade deadline and dumping picks to buy? Make it make sense
What difference does the first half make? It looks like the Gens, Fronts and Bulldogs are all going to push for next year. The Petes are a year into their rebuild. There’s a good value in being off the cycles in your division.

If you add two more high impact players to the 67’s, you are looking at easily the most talented team in the division this year. Only NB and Sudbury seem to be buying other than Ottawa in the conference. If Saginaw wins the West, all you need to do is win the conference to make the Mem Cup. Let’s make an all in run!
