The only thing I could find that resembles a newspaper publication in Oshawa. I guess they are taking the expectations off them this series. The 67's own the Generals in the playoffs; it's always been that way :) 😁
Season records mean schnizzle when the playoffs start. In 1988, a massive favourite 67s team featured Andrew Cassels and his 151 points. They faced an Oshawa underdog with Jeff Hackett in nets and Paul Theriault behind the bench. They had to win game 4 in OT to avoid an Oshawa sweep and then blew the Generals out three in a row, but it was way too close.

Yeah I remember that series all too well like it was yesterday. Good times but it was the dirty Generals and Theriault that made it feel the greatest of all euphoria's in beating those guys, no matter how many games. It was probably the next year after where Ottawa won the series 4-2 where Oshawa tried it mount a series comeback and came up short.

Anyways this is 2023. I am predicting Oshawa will take at least 2 this series. Won't be a sweep. You fans need to step it up over in Gatineau as it's not the 67's home rink and Generals will probably steal one in there...

67s are the biggest betting favourite I've ever seen tonight (Gens are +800)

I'll say 5-2 OTT, Morrison GWG

Okay, he's being forced by injury to Donoso, but Cameron is starting MacKenzie in goal tonight. Good - he is clearly our best goalie by any measure. As long as he's winning, that should be MacKenzie's crease - no need to overthink this.

Sucks to lose the starting job due to injury but let’s see where it goes. MacKenzie was really impressive last weekend in three consecutive wins.

JF Plante is reporting that Tolnai is in concussion protocol; anyone know what happened to him?

Ok good 2 periods so far by the 67's. They are moving the puck exceptionally well over there and actually look quite at home. Very entertaining game. Hopefully things don't go nasty as things have done at the Sens-Flyers game...

North Bay fan with a couple of questions: Slush Puppie Centre? I looked it up, why were the 67s there? Have they played there all season or in their regular arena? Thanks.

Their arena is being used for a curling championship. Have to play their 3 first home games at the Slush Puppie Centre home of the Gatineau Olympiques.

Nice little rink. Capacity 4,000 or so. A full house would be rocking. They actually sell Slushies. Not a big crowd tonight, may be better on Sunday. The traffic across the bridges to Gatineau can be daunting for a school night game.

Your announcers were bang on with their pre-game "keys to the game". If the 67s shut down Brett Harrison, they'll shut down the Gens. I didn't even notice Harrison out there tonight

I guess they were saying Oshawa has no chance

Ottawa actually did play a pre-season game there and a regular season game versus Gatineau in that rink

I hope so. The fans who bothered to show up were quite into or at least that's how it looked on TV, but com'mon they need a way bigger crowd on Sunday.

First it is a school night second and most important it is in Gatineau. It is funny but Ottawa fans will drive to the TD but when it comes to Hull or Gatineau Eh not so much.

The other thing against them is that the Olympique's play at home this weekend also so we lose some of their fans that would have come out.

Always wondered why the 67\s never set up a ticket deal with Olympique fans. I understand when it was harold and earl but.......

Looking at the stats it looks like Oshawa is going to try to wear down the 67's physically. Try to intimidate them not sure that will work but hey.

The problem with that is you can't hit what you can't catch. Ottawa seems to be able to skate miles ahead them......

Attendance at weekday night games at TD Place can be very low as well. It is hard enough to wade through rush hour traffic home, feed the kids, and then get out to a playoff game. Add in the lengthy delays at the bridges and the parents will bail on the idea. No-one has to go at all, and some just need one reason to avoid it.

I heard a chant, late in the game, for Carter Bickle to go in nets. Admittedly, the fifth Ottawa goal was weak, but Oster faced a lot of shots with zero support from his teammates. I thought he played well enough.

Also, any word on Tolnai? Is he injured?
