Good to see Jack Beck starting to round back into form. Good for the 67's playoff hopes, and good for him personally as he tries to get an entry level contract from the Flames...

A win Sunday will mean this team sets the new record for points in a season
It's tomorrow afternoon against Barrie. Tough turnaround, but Barrie is also playing tonight in Kingston. I'm not sure the game means anything to Barrie either - I think they are stuck in third place in the conference and can't move up or down.

In terms of the points record, I always think about that 2019-20 team that had 50 wins already by March 12 when the season got put on ice, forever as it turns out. That team was headed to the Memorial Cup with a good chance to win it - I will always feel badly for those kids...

The first period of the Barrie game might have been Ottawa's worst period all season. One shot in the first ten minutes and precious little offensive zone time. Sitting Tolnai meant we struggled at face-offs. After that, the legs started going and Cameron started playing the top guys a bit more.

I thought Mayich made a great decision when he grabbed the call-up Pickell, after the "boarding" penalty. He just locked up and then backed off to get the power play.

Was disappointed when I got to the rink and saw Barrie had sat their 4 top guys including Clarke. Really wanted to see Clarke as he's been lighting it up. Wanted to see how we matched up against them as they have been hot since the trade deadline. So good victory but not against their top guns. Granted we sat Tolnai/Costantini but we didn't beat a representative Barrie team. I suspect Cameron would have liked to sit a few more guys like Pinelli/Stoney/Gerrior who've logged a ton of games but we're just too short on bodies these days.

I agree it would have been nice to see Clarke (especially) play, but the 6,000+ fans were sent home happy with a win, there were some nice goals, and no one (on either team) got hurt or suspended…that’s a successful finale to the regular season in my view!

Now we wait on word on Donoso (he’s in concussion protocol, I’ve heard) and Barlas (still week to week). MacKenzie played really well over three consecutive games, and capping off the regular season with back to back wins against Peterborough (who still had something to play for) should help the team maintain their confidence heading into the playoffs.

my mistake question still stands just different name
Kelly is 3 years younger than Kavanagh, but neither is a noted fighter and it showed. He hung in there, taking some shots. It was mostly a poor decision by Kavanagh, as it cost Barrie a power play and sidelined him for the rest of the game.

Logan Morrison had 39 playoff points last year. The Gens entire roster combined has 44 career playoff points.

But interestingly enough the Gens actually have the more playoff games played (94 for OSH, 77 for OTT)

Top career playoff points from this series:
1- Morrison 40
2- Serpa 15
T3- Ritchie 7
T3- D'Amato 7
5- Gagnier 5
T6- Rolofs 4
T6- Tolnai 4
T6- Beck 4
T6- Pinelli 4
T6- Rohrer 4
T6- Matier 4

Oster is the only goalie who's won a playoff game before (1-2-0). Donoso is 0-2-1, Mackenzie has never played in a playoff game

Just some random observations from reviewing the 67s stats from the regular season:

- Logan Morrison has a 20-19-39, +23(!) line in 22 games with the 67s. Not really surprised, but what a trade deadline pickup he's been. Kudos to Boyd on that one, and a huge kudos to Morrison for integrating seamlessly and quickly assuming a leadership position on the 67s.

- Tolnai led us in scoring (counting only games with Ottawa), which is a nice way for him to end his regular season career with Ottawa. Beck had 53 points in 45 and really heated up in the last month or so of the season, so would have likely been our scoring leader if not for injury.

- Sirman, with a +31 in 62 games, was top-10 in plus/minus in the OHL. Not bad for a 5th/6th defenseman for half the year, and 4th line forward for the other half!

- Little disappointed to see Rohrer with only 19 goals on the season (he missed 14 games...but still). He'll need to be really good as our #2C to take some of the pressure off Morrison when the checking gets tighter and matchups come into player as we progress through the playoffs.

- We couldn't really ask for more from Pinelli and Stonehouse...they both had outstanding regular seasons. Would anybody have had Stonehouse approaching 40 goals and leading the team in goals by a fairly wide margin on their bingo cards?

- To no one's surprise who's actually watched them play, our younger depth players - Gerrior, Gardiner, Foster - all had terrific seasons; I thought Gerrior was one of our better players once he got used to playing with Morrison. Outstanding improvement offensively and added a nice forechecking presence. Ideally we'll see Barlas back in the lineup soon so that Cameron can reunite the Gardiner-Barlas-Foster line...it would be a luxury to have them as our 4th line.

- No regulars were minus on the season. Interestingly, Boucher was -1 in his 21 games with the 67s this season.

It would not surprise me to see Rohrer end up as a winger or as the 3rd/4th line center

Tolnai definitely is more productive and I can see Gardiner moving up the stats.

Rohrer on a wing is not a bad thing either.

The one thing Cameron has done well is juggling the lines Oshawa has no line combinations to prepare for

My only worry for this playoff series, and it may be completely irrational and off base, is us having to play our "home" games in a strange rink. I'm concerned that it may take away some of the juice that the boys may have otherwise had, and make it feel like a low key pre-season game. Like I say, this might be a completely unfounded worry - hopefully we put them on blast in the first period of game one and set the tone right away. On paper, this should not be particularly close...
