I strongly suspect we'll see Morrison and Rohrer back in the lineup this evening.

I would change a couple of things Stoney should stay with Tolnai they have been together all year an play well

According to my vision Smyth is a better match for Minty. Constatini has not been playing well
Beast I agree that Stoney has played well with Tolnai but we need to put a more offensive player with Beck/Mo. As much as I like Guerrior he is not that guy imo. After thinking about it I would change the two bottom lines I suggested above to
Barlas/Tolnai/Guerrior
Foster/Gardiner/Dever

The first trio would be a hell of a shutdown line and I like the idea of reuniting Gardiner with Foster as they played well together the first half of the year.

Amother option is to switch Rohrer back to right wing so:
Beck/Mo/Rohrer
Pinelli/Tolnai/Boucher
Foster/Gardiner/Stoney
Barlas/Dever/Guerrior

I didn't like to hear Hull beat "our" best. If you think that Marcel Marcel is good, wait until his brother, also named Marcel, joins the league next season.

I don't know if we're "our best"... maybe but that remains to be determined. However Gatineau even if we had our full lineup ( we were missing 3/4 players) is definitly better. I do feel the O is at a bit of a disadvamtage as they can't trade first rounders to really go all in. Some of the teams in the Q and the Dub traded multiple young players and first rounders. I think the Olympiques have something like 10/12 nhl drafted players...insane. The scary thing is they might not be the best team in the Q. And even scarier there's a team out west (forget which) that loaded up with 5/6 team canada players. So whoever makes it to the M cup will be in tough.

I mentioned awhile back that I think all 3 leagues should have the same rules, (unless there are unique circumstances where it would be necessary to depart from uniformity) including the trading of 1st rd picks. It might be better if all 3 leagues were not permitted to trade 1st rd picks. I'm undecided about which side I'd support. Fence-sitter, I am. Your point though is a good one.

I wonder if there is more disparity between the rich and the poor teams in those leagues. Maybe compiling data on different league champions vs teams consistently missing playoffs to see if there are more trends in those leagues than in the OHL where first round picks can't be traded.

The only one I would trust with this analysis is @Otto

Sorry, way too much going on in my personal life to take on this kind of project. The attendance one is easy because I started it years ago and I just work off a template and input numbers. I'd have to start this one from scratch.

Good solid win but could have gone either way. Petes played well. So much though for a full lineup still no Smyth, Barlas, Boucher. Quite the tease mr Cameron!

Is it me, or does it seem like, other than Tolnai, we can't seem to win many faceoffs?
Another clean faceoff win by the Petes cost us a goal yesterday.

Seems to be happening more and more...

This happened in the London game a few weeks ago too, when Rohrer was beaten cleanly on two straight faceoffs in the d-zone and the Knights winger immediately put the puck on net, scoring on the second one. For a team that is well coached, pays attention to details and is generally solid defensively, faceoffs are certainly a weakness. They need to bear down a lot more in this area, especially in the d-zone, and Cameron probably needs to get Tolnai out there more often to take important d-zone draws (even if it means pulling him off when we transition out of the d-zone).

Faceoffs are very weak. Don’t care what the numbers say it’s about the zone and importance of the draw at a specific time. Good centres don’t try to win every draw. Some take their lumps and realize tying up the opponent once in awhile is not a bad thing. Communication with wingers is key and they can swoop in and help out. The draws get more important as the season goes on. Losing draws clean will always hurt and the worst is in Ozone on the PP. Bare down boys.
