Curious why you guys/gals post this info? It’s all available and more on the OHL site either Play by Play or Game Summary.

I always am curious myself, if you can check this you can check the ohl website witch has even more on the game

I think the game illustrated how much more physical a league th Q is. It's simply better hockey. It's far more realistic in simulating the pro game. Will be very interesting to see what happens Saturday.
wut?..lol ..overall the Q is the weakest of the big 3 in terms of developing NHL talent but their top teams - loaded up for MemC runs - are as good as any team in the CHL . That Gatineau squad with 12 NHL picks - 8 of whom dressed last night - will be handful come playoffs . Very impressive team. (That said I got ottawa in the rematch :)

Didn't say otherwise about NHL talent. But it's a way more physical league so the top teams are more competitive. Branch has neutered the OHL. When you watch live from one game to the next its noticeable. I live in Ottawa the 67s are the team I cheer for but I go to games and frankly I hate what the OHL has become.

In what way has Branch ‘neutered’ the league ?

With his heavy suspensions for physical play (the Tyler Boucher suspension being a great example) Branch has turned the OHL into a no-hit league. Lay a big hit in the OHL and Branch is going to sit you down for multiple games, so everyone plays a little soft. It doesn't serve the league well when it comes time to play other leagues in the Memorial Cup, Top Prospects games, etc.

67'd hit post rebounds out to Gatineau player who puts into open net

67's lose 4-1

Well I will give Gatineau a thumbs up, big team with good speed, loaded with experience with 10 NHL drafted players and they look ready for the post season.

Good luck in the playoffs.

Eye opening two games. Ottawa doesn’t have it this year. I’m questioning the lineup card a lot lately more than ever. We need lines to build chemistry not a mixed bag every shift

It seems that Ottawa builds OHL teams every year at the draft. The OHL is a small league without the big hits and without the fighting.

Take a look at the size of the players that we usually draft. The Q has and always will be a big hitting physical league. Hel a good game for a Q player was a fight a goal and an assist.

Players in the Q have long bus trips and also have a physical side to them that is trained right from the beginning when they start playing as kids.

Yo do not see the physical game in the OHL anymore. Teams all dress players that score and are fast size as long as it fits the Q mode is not considered.
Even if you look at the last M Cup we won if Galbraith had not made that hit would the 67's been better than the WHL team.

That sounds like a good excuse to use after getting killed twice by a Q team, but this isn't true. The OHL players have outscored both QMJHL and WHL players in each of the last 6 Top Prospects games.

Mem Cup winners since '03 (20 years with 2 not awarded because of covid):
OHL: 7
QMJHL: 7
WHL: 4

So no, the OHL isn't at a disadvantage when it comes time to play other leagues in the Memorial Cup, Top Prospects games, etc.

We were asked what Dave Branch had done to hurt the OHL. I answered. At no time did I offer up an excuse for the 67's losing to Gatineau - they lost because Gatineau is playing better hockey, and Ottawa may be hitting a bit of a wall after some early season success. I have felt this way about OHL hockey for years - TBH - the Q plays a more entertaining brand of hockey.

Let's face it Gerrior, Sirman, Dever and Kelly are not really household names at forward. Foster and Gardiner were rolling but have now hit the wall as the going gets tougher. Even Pinelli and Stonehouse have not been near as noticeable on the scoring stats sheet.

On the defense we have Mews and Marrelli who have come back down to earth. Ewles and Horner are not going to intimidate anyone with their play.

Morrison and Mintyukov have really helped but we have too many young kids with very little experience. Not a good recipe for the playoffs.
