Boucher injured not playing in the Bronze medal game
Broken heart?
Boucher injured not playing in the Bronze medal game
Hopefully not serious but I don't recall seeing anything of concern yesterday.Boucher injured not playing in the Bronze medal game
Beck and Suzuki will never have the same role, they do not need to be treated the same.Beck is currently projecting to have an 85pt season, Montreal will be looking for him to return and have a dominating season similar to what Suzuki had when he returned - he likely sticks around for the 9 game cup of tea to start next season as well. The decision by Missy will be entirely based on what is being offered, a three way deal involving Saginaw and Mintyukov could get real interesting if the pieces started moving around.
This could involve Ottawa or Barrie, both have the assets to work with.
with other teams adding except for barrie & ottawa.. just says these teams r here for the real players.Beck and Suzuki will never have the same role, they do not need to be treated the same.
I only gave Beck a 30% chance of sticking; that is not unreasonable imo. I think if he proves capable of handling a 4th line role and help the team win, he will stick.
This is not good news for us.Boucher injured not playing in the Bronze medal game
He was a 2nd round pick who Montreal will want to see work his way through the system in a conventional way. He has a tone of potential to be tapped into, they aren't putting him into a 4th line role as an 18/19 yo.Beck and Suzuki will never have the same role, they do not need to be treated the same.

Seemed like he played the whole game so doesn’t sound like a season ender….This is not good news for us.
His upside is that he could potentially be the ultimate checking line centre. I doubt he will be groomed for scoring line 1. Beck is well over ppg because he dominates defensively, best in league at face-offs, and very fast for the OHL. He could play through his OA season and not carry the play like Lombardi; he just is not that player. He was a 2nd round pick who Montreal will want to see work his way through the system in a conventional way. I'm curious to whether people's view of Wright has changed based on this world junior tournament. To me, they really haven't. Well, maybe a little negatively. The pluses imo are his 200-foot game (no surprise there), and I thought he was able to take over certain shifts when he put his mind to it. He's been good in front of the net with tips on point shots and playing the bumper on the PP. His decision-making has been good, if not a little deliberate and cautious. As a Canadian fan, I feel at ease when Wright is on the ice because I'm relatively assured he won't making any poor decisions and will take care of his shit defensively. In player interviews, a lot of them speak highly of his leadership in the room after the Czech loss.
The negatives are his ability to really drive offense; his line, with Othmann and Guenther (both returnees from the summer) has been disappointing at ES. I wouldn't say any of them have stood out this tournament, and have been overshadowed by all three players on the Bedard line. I don't see much creativity with Wright; he's a great skater and has a great shot, but certainly doesn't seem like a #1C that will score 90+ points/season at the NHL level. But that's meaningless for now. He could also use some work on his faceoffs, which is oddly an area that Canada has struggled with (not only Wright).
Would Wright work in Ottawa, if Boyd were to acquire him in the coming days? I certainly think so. I think he'd fit in quite well actually. He's played for Cameron before, at the abbreviated tournament last XMas, so there should be a mutual understanding of expectations there (and if we're to believe the rumours, Ottawa is on Wright's short-list of teams he'd be willing to waive his NTC for). I think he'd work very well with Beck and someone like Gerrior, tasked with puck pursuit and retrieval. That would also be a line that could/would be effectively deployed against any line in the league, including match-up situations if necessary and the depth (Rohrer/Pinelli, Tolnai/Stonehouse, Gardiner/Barlas) would be quite strong.
I wouldn't be disappointed if Ottawa went out and got Wright tomorrow. The cost would be tremendous, but I think he'd be a good fit. Beck would too (perhaps even a better stylistic fit for Ottawa), but I see Wright having much more upside right now.
Idk what team style suits him best to be honest. I think a player with great instincts like the ‘67s Beck or Firebirds Giroux or Othmann would suit him. There is one aspect of Team Canada’s approach that I think doesn’t get a lot of mention. I feel they play more of a North-South game. Bigger players. They try to push the puck down low. I’m not sure this fits Shane Wright’s strengths. I had mentioned the same thing about Fantilli.
I think Bedard gets away with it because he is electric enough to pull the game to himself.
I am wondering whether Shane Wright in more of a puck possession system like Ottawa with a heavy puck pursuit game would fit Shane Wright better than the style we see right now on Team Canada. It is odd that both Wright and Othmann are struggling. They shouldn’t be. I think the possibility exists they are being stifled by the system in place for Team Canada.
Some of the more X’s and O’s Type posters that would be stronger than me in that regard may have a better take on that.

To a certain extent, for sure. Though most teams value puck possession, I’m sure. Like the Soo if their good D were older? Or maybe more like Flint than Saginaw, if you consider Saginaw a puck possession team.I think a team that values puck possession as opposed to dump and chase would suit him better. Gives him more time with puck as a centre with more free movement to be more creative.

Gatineau is ALL IN this year. The Alexandra Cup this year will be highly entertaining and contested. For my crew, these home and home’s are the most entertaining of the year.Capital region well represented in world juniors. Anyone here follow Gatineau? The question on everyone's mind is:
Is Marcel Marcel's middle name... Marcel?
Too much time on my hands as I await more trade announcements.
