Does anyone have anymore scouting reports on rohrer? Is he the next Marco Rossi?
That would be sweet! However i think it's pretty unrealistic to expect another Marco, he was special. Rohrer did put up similar numbers at the same levels ax Rossi in Austria fof what it's worth. I haven't seen him pkay yet so hard to give u a scouting report but will go to the game tomorrow. One thing though is even if he is close to the talent of Rossi we can't expect thed same numbers. Rossi came onto a loaded team and played with Felhaber/Keating as a 17 y.o. Rohrer won't have the same luxury.

Cooper Foster and Jack Dever have been reassigned by the team. Good move to get them lots of ice time. From the above article, it looks like Luca Pinelli is impressing at training camp- he should be on the team. They still have 15 forwards with no obvious cuts left right now. Going to take a guess at the lineup to start the year:
FORWARDS
Beck-Tolnai-Sirrizzotti
Robinson-Gaidamak-Rohrer
Barlas-Laforme-Stonehouse
Varga-Crete-Johnston
Extras: Pinelli, Gerrior, Gardiner
DEFENCE:
Matier-Sawyer
Belanger-Gill-Shane
Constantini-Mayich
Extas: Sirman, Smith
GOALIE:
Cranley
Donoso
Mackenzie (reports are very favourable on him, which could allow the team to move Cranley if they aren't contenders this year. Caveat- I hope that this isn't the case :) )

Where do you see that they got reassigned?

Both have been removed from the teams pre-season roster posted online. Foster has returned home and signed with the Soo Thunderbirds. Haven't seen anything on Dever yet,
Is there a link? I can’t find any rosters. Elite prospects is slow to update.

I think it will be interesting to see how long tolnai stays as the number 1 center. Also I think it will be just as interesting to see if the Gaidamak line that you have stays as the number 2 line or if they become a 1a 1b scenario. This is a team that is going to have a lot of competition on the forward lines and that would be a good thing.

The challenge is that most of these players have not played together so there is going to be a sharp learning curve and I do not see them as being great out of the starting post however, I think as the season goes on and the forwards get to know each other it will definitely be in the hunt going into the playoffs.

I thin k you are pretty much on to it.

The lines are going to be a work in progress at best. It will take a good 10 or so regular season games to find some combos that fit.

The veteran or older players will get the opportunity to prove they can’t hold the lofty positions while the younger players will need to prove they can.

To me, there are 8 or 9 forwards that will get all the benefit of the doubt early. They will be leaned on until they prove not capable. We just have to hope there are 2 or 3 of those guys push their way forward and prove to be leaders. I;m not sure we want a 1A and 1B line as an example. If that turns out to be true, it is likely they are truly 2a and 2B with no #1 line.

On the back end, there are five guys they are pretty sure they have penned in. It is unlikely any of the top 5 get pushed out. It would be shocking to me if any of the top 5 ended up in the press box regularly. Shocked really.

For the goaltending, we assume Cranley will get the bulk of the load and rightfully so. I think it is unlikely either Donoso or MacKenzie would unseat Cranley unless Cranley craps the bed.

I think we will be able to cobble together three decent lines. It will come down to whether one line proves to be a bonafide #1 line.

Cooper Foster looking pretty good for the Soo Thunderbirds tonight. What did you guys think about him at training camp?

Well it felt good to be back at TD place to watch a game after 18 months. A few comments.
1- Gaidamack looked solid
2-Rohrer showed flashes but still getting use to the O level, he's gonna be good.
3- Of the rookies Pinelli looked great. Fast , feisty, does not look like a 16 y.o. Gardiner looks like he needs a year in junior A. Barlas did not play.
4- of the year 2 "rookies" Stonehouse is gonna be a fan favorite. Gets his nose dirty and will be a pain to play against. Think Brendan Gallagher.
5- of the 3 second year D Mayich looked good, Smyth also looks solid. Sirman seemed the less ready of the three tonight.
6- Gill-Shane looked good
7-Sirizzotti stood out, fast, good size. Great pass to set up Gaidamack. Also set up another great chance and hit post/crossbar on a laser.
8- Tolnai and Johnston had rough games
9-Laforme plays with an edge
10-Varga plays hard but does he warrant an OA spot? Not convinced
All and all North Bay was all over us most of the first. We carried the play last two periods and could easily have won.

Not playing: Belanger, Matier, Robinson, Barlas, Beck,Cranley

One last comment on last night 's game. Another thing that struck me is the speed of our forwards even with Barlas/Beck who are good skaters absent. They are all above average except Tolnai/Laforme who still skate well. Pinelli, Gerrior, Stonehouse, Rohrer can all wheel.

Another "last" comment. Between Pinelli, Laforme, Stonehouse and Johnston we will be a pain to play against not even including Sawyer and Gill-Shane. We won't be as talented as the last few years but we will be a grittier team.
