Good trade for Ottawa getting a guy that is in his prime and fits with their younger core.

I love this for Ottawa, once it came out Chicago was after #5 I thought this would be a smart thing for Ottawa to pursue.

DeBrincat, Tkachuk, Stutzle, Norris, Batherson.. this forward group is legit.

I think they've put themselves in a position to legit take a step & compete for playoffs.

Also wild cards in Joseph and Pinto who could be impactful top 6/9 players. Their forward depth could be among the best in the league in the very near future.

My lord Ottawa! What have you done?
Holy cow how did you pull that off?
Surely they're the envy of the league after making a move like this.
What amazing value.

I can’t believe Chicago settled for that. Slim chances the 7th is as good as cat, but you never know. You would think an established young player or prospect would there as well.

Sens screwed it up, they could have had Josh Anderson until he’s 33 plus Christian Dvorak!

In all seriousness though, congrats on this deal Sens fans…dare I say it - it’s pretty damn exciting to be a Sens fan right now especially with some other moves yet to come.

Chicago…I don’t know what you’re doing unless you also offload Jones and go full slash and burn rebuild.

Isn't DCat still RFA after this?
He is. And there's no second 1st round pick in the deal like there was with Duchene, so the risk of a repeat of that horror is considerably reduced. But it's still a consideration.

If he's not signed by next May or so, then I'm going to really feel for all those Sens fans who'll have to beat off the drooling vultures.

Before you poop on the trade like the mainstream media and those so called hockey “insiders”, just remember that one of those picks could very well turn into a 24 year old forty goal scorer. Hawks need someone like that to build around.

Chi should of pulled in 2022 1st and 2023 1st and called it a trade. Ott won this one no doubt. That division just became much more interesting.
