Wow. Nice job Ottawa. Seems cheap for a 40g guy. Thanks for Byram but y’all really figured things out after that trade.

Blackhawks gonna suck this season. Trade Kane at the deadline with 50% retention for value.

Backslide for Bedard?
It's a trade they will regret in 5 yrs

Who's in net? What does the defence looking?

Question marks in goal for sure. But the top 4 on defense is going to include Chabot, Zub and as blue chip a defense prospect can get in Sanderson.

Hamonic, Holden and Branstrom to round it out. Thomson and JBD knocking on the door. Definitely space to improve for sure. But its not dire.

So much for 2OA, next years 1st, Mercer plus Holtz as a start.

Why do fans continually think players will return massive packages? They're just setting themselves up for disappointment.
"If those know-nothing newcomer losers in Columbus can keep getting what they predict, surely us knowledgable, enlightened, hockey culture infused O6 fans can get what we predict."

Yeah, I know, I'm pointlessly making it all about me and my team and my fanbase. But I figured it'd be a nice change of pace to have that from a fan of the Jackets rather than, say, the Leafs or Habs. ;)

Young 40 goal scorer for the 7th pick in an awful draft is just such horrible asset management, especially with absolutely no pressure to trade him right now.

I'm just astounded they keep making bad moves like this.

Interesting trade. I guess Chicago is tanking now?

Good addition for Ottawa, however, it might not look so hot in 5 years depending on who is available at 7.

The idea that they get a 40 goal scorer in THIS draft with the 7th overall pick is highly unlikely.

I would be so pissed as a Blackhawks fan. Luckily, I am not.

I love this for Ottawa, once it came out Chicago was after #5 I thought this would be a smart thing for Ottawa to pursue.

DeBrincat, Tkachuk, Stutzle, Norris, Batherson.. this forward group is legit.

I think they've put themselves in a position to legit take a step & compete for playoffs.

Wait, hold on. How the hell did Dorion pull of DeBrincat for #7, #39 and a 3rd but was willing to trade Murray with #7 just to move down 9 spots?
Maybe the insiders haven't adjusted to Ultra Instinct Dorion yet. Could be this guy really was held back by ownership.
