In case you missed it. I actually suggest they bring up Nic Dowd yesterday or was day before either way if it was up to me We would have had 13 forwards to choose from.

#preachingtochoir

You mean it doesn't have something to do with that Dowd is nowhere near ready? You need to have a chat with DL.

I am baffled by the Two defender call up as well, but it no doubt has a reason behind it, that none of us are privy too.

You could argue that Weal is not NHL caliber as well(atm). So the Kings are really short on the forward front.

How has Weal looked in the games hes been in by the way? He was a beast here in Regina playing with Eberle and carried the team hard the 2 years afterwards as well.

Average to below, not NHL caliber.

The only forwards in Ontario you can make a case for are Nic Dowd, semi NHL ready, and Jordan Samuels-Thomas. Jordan Samuels-Thomas, due to his advanced age, and NHL size body, he would probably handle 4th line minutes averagely.

Fantastic in the AHL obviously, but struggling in transition to define his game as another poster said; he doesn't seem to be a fit so far even though the raw skills seem to be around. He'll probably be on another NHL team by the end of the year because it's doubtful he gets the playing time here to develop as we're a contending team...bummer because he's super likeable but just doesn't seem to mesh with the Kings.

Dang that sucks, I'd love for Ottawa to try and make a move for him but I know it'd be in vain since we'd rather play plugs at forward over young skilled guys. Didn't watch the Kings broadcast so I don't know if they mentioned it, but Cameron has Borowiecki (Career 6/7th Dman who hasn't played forward since he was 15) playing forward over an actual forward who was an AHL all-star last year (Shane Prince) lol

I actually had the Sens feed tonight and that gave me a giggle. Prince seems to be in kind of the same boat as Weal really.

Did they have to amputate King's foot? I didn't know it took this long recover from that injury. He must be getting setbacks.

I believe he is due back on the ice when the Kings come back from the road trip.

But then King has to skate himself into shape.

Shore and Mersch had 1 shift in the 3rd...

Sutter expects the young guys to earn any playing time. Forbort is going thru what Andreoff went thru last year. Shore obviously has a longer leash but he will sit if not bringing it every game. Being short forwards and playing 3 games in 4 nights DS has to be really ticked at Shore to not play him in the 3rd.

I feel really bad for Weal, so close but he's probably done with the NHL.

Perhaps understanding what direct means might help you.

Thanks for the English lesson! My vocabulary has now expanded as a direct result of your work. How'd I do there?

Brown not skating led directly to a turnover, which led directly to McBain getting beat on a play, which led directly to a shot, which in turn led to a rebound, directly. Then Zibanejad's stick made direct contact with the puck, resulting in a goal.

Shore and Mersch had 1 shift in the 3rd...

Shore was dreadful in the circle tonight, and Mersch was playing electronic football on the first goal and made a really soft play trying to defend/block Karlsson's attempt on his goal.

the holes up front right now are on the bottom two lines, and the Senators picked them apart.
