Brown's not a disappointment if you had realistic expectations for the guy. He was never going to return, in 2012 form. That player is long gone, and never coming back. Plenty of people noticed that last season, and accepted it.

Just because you accept the fail, don't expect other people to accept it. :)

Thank god the fans get a couple day break before being subjected to another game.

I did enjoy the full 60 min line blender.

Way too much ice time for Kopi/DD this road trip and these OT games are not helping.
@lakingsinsider Anze Kopitar played a season-high 26:44 tonight. Drew Doughty played 30:08.

nothing like running down your best...
maybe you want them to have something left in their tanks for the second half of the season.

I don't get the purpose of bringing up two more dmen and dressing 7, only to throw off the offensive lines. It makes less sense given that Forbort barely played, but it's not like Weal would've made a difference.

Kings were extremely soft tonight and too passive against Ottawa. Weak along the boards, turnovers and defensive breakdowns sealed two points for Ottawa.

The team tends to step it up against tough opponents so we'll see how they respond against the Habs. Two days rest before the next game.

Unfortunately that was exactly the game i expected tonight, just with more goals and some hope for a few minutes, heh. Just systematic suckage from top to bottom. Can't point to any one player as 'the problem' nor any one player as having a good game. Just failure from top to bottom, including from Sutter.

I expect a big bounceback in MTL since they're a really good team and we'll be rested. 3 games in 4 nights on the opposite coast WITH OT plus an Ottawa team that was going at us as hard as they could was a bad recipe on top of everything else. All of the stupid mistakes tonight could be chalked up to fatigue imo, those turnovers and people just losing coverage for no reason are completely atypical of this team. McNabb falling was lol.

Nothing spells trade bait more than playing 3:53. That was Derek Forbort's TOI tonight.

Ugh, "playing" 7 dmen is awful.

He was only in there to spell McNabb a bit. All the Kings dmen were terrible.

From scoring on almost every good chance, to hitting through most of the Kings all night, I'd say Ottawa was pretty efficient in that game.

It actually is. I thought he played fine till the Buffalo game, where he was MIA.
Tonight I thought Gaborik lost all board battles and didn't skate fluidly. Martinez was also less engaged. Both gassed...

Mcnabb and Forbort were awful and Quick had a night to forget (and should have been pulled after that 4th goal).

Shore and Mersch were a bit too harshly punished by Sutter...

punished? how? they both played. mersch was given special teams for his 3rd nhl game and had shifts with kopi and carter... that's punishment?

We again are in agreement I think a couple days off and a dairy queen run for the boys :P would help this team tons

Dowd I think is really the only forward the Kings can bring up that could play a regular NHL shift. Everyone else down in Ontario, is not ready.

Yeah, that playing 7 d, and then benching one guy really worked out tonight. Sutter was one of the reasons they lost too. He ended up overworking our top two player because of it.:shakehead

Nobody played well. Well maybe Muzzin did. He actually had positive metrics all game.
Muzzin and Lucic had good games. Carter, Kopitar, Pearson, Toffoli, Nolan and to extent Mersch were average with a few good moments here and there.
McNabb wants to erase the tape of this game. Poor positioning, really bad ES play with turnovers on clearing the zone (or exiting the zone).

The rest wasn't good... And that includes the coaching staff.
