Howie Kendrick back to the Dodogers on a 2 year deal. Why???

Personally, I would have preferred Utley at a fraction of the cost of Kendrick. Utley also brings more speed, and fire to the team. I like Howie, he's a solid player. He just doesn't excel in any area offensively.

Not thrilled with most of the Dodgers signing this off-season. In particular, Anderson and now Kendrick.

Maybe the Utley of 5 years ago.

What? Kendrick is twice the player Utley is now.

And besides, they resigned Utley too...

I know they re-signed Utley, that's why this re-signing of Kendrick's bit of a head-scratcher. But clearly, you and I have opposing views on what Utley brings to the table.

I don't mind Utley as a bench guy but he's done as an everyday player. Howie can still play everyday and he's a pro's pro.

Meh. Why not? They didn't have anybody to play at second base as an everyday player. The only guy who could have taken that role was Peraza and he was traded away in the Frazier deal. Kendrick's a consistent ball player. Pretty much a lock for 20 HRs and a .280 BA

Utley's not a good bench player. The guy was hitting well over .300 coming off of d/l in philly, playing full time. However, once traded to the dodgers, he didn't do nearly as well, playing part time.

Everyone thinks Howie's a HR hitter, but he really isn't. He's more of a gap hitter, than he is a HR hitter. In fact, Howie's NEVER hit 20 HRs in his career. The most he's hit is 18 in 2011, and then 13 HRs in 2013. In fact he averages more or less 10 HRs a season. I think people have the misperception of Howie, because he looks physically strong, but no, he's DEFINITELY not a 20 HR guy.

In a HF housekeeping note: Due to the awesome events of the last few weeks, I think the "Rams" in the thread title should be moved to the left - way left.

Put them before or after the Dodgers:

Rams, Dodgers, Angels, Lakers, Clippers, USC, UCLA, Fantasy, MMA etc.

or

Dodgers, Rams, Angels, Lakers, Clippers, USC, UCLA, Fantasy, MMA etc.

the Angels are OC, bumping them in an L.A. thread to #3 is ok.
