Maybe they'll move the Jets and Giants here, then the #1 market in the country can be without a team :sarcasm:

And there is a definite sense at least the framework of a global settlement will be done tonight.

The scenario I see is Rams/Chargers in Inglewood. Raiders get promise of NFL assistance in Oakland. Rams give Chargers greater piece of the Stadium pie. No one gets exactly what they want.

Seems that the NFL wants to help Spanos most, but that doesn't mean he should get whatever he wants.

Roger Goodell is discussing a new proposal with the owners. Vote coming very soon

It seems like everything depends on Spanos as the NFL seems to be in his corner although for the life of me I can't figure out why.

Seriously. The man is such an ***clown, it's amazing he seems to be the favorite. Then again, we are talking about a group of people with Jerry Jones as their leader :shakehead

I think the consensus is that Spanos tried his best to work out something with the City of San Diego. The fact that he's a suck-*** owner is neither here nor there.

The Chargers shouldn't worry about fan support. Of course, they won't gain fans overnight and they know they will be second fiddle. They most definitely shouldn't worry about Raiders fans in LA. Their fan base here will die down. It's just stupid to root for a team over 300 miles away when you have two local teams.

Watch the two teams leave LA in 10 years.... Again....

The Rams were in St. Louis for only 21 seasons.

Before that, the Cardinals were in St. Louis for 27 seasons.

The Hawks were in St. Louis for only 13 seasons before they packed their bags for Atlanta.

It's a baseball town, always has been, always will be, and they don't support other sports...except the St. Louis Blues have been able to thrive there, even though they have never won a title.

It's the gangsta thing. Raiders will always have the thuggery element for fans. I have to laugh at Raider fan constantly with how bad that team has been for the past 13 seasons.

Wow, it's hard to believe it's been that long. I was thinking MAYBE 15 years, but it's really been 21 years.

edit: I'm thinking that the last QB for the Rams in LA was Dieter "bounce pass" Brock. Correct?

Raiders will receive additional loan money earmarked for a future stadium in their home market when this becomes official I'm told

Heard on the radio:

a. The 6-owner committee voted to recommend the Carson project 5 to 1.
b. The first owner vote was a thumbs down to a Rams-only Inglewood project.
c. The first vote for the Rams/Chargers or Raiders Inglewood project was 21 to 8 with 3 abstaining.
d. In a contradictory report to c. above, the vote was actually 20 to 12.

So that is where we stand. The owners are supposed to meet again in about 10 minutes; a lot of reporters are anticipating a second vote on the Rams/Chargers Inglewood project.

I've confirmed #Raiders agreed to exit "exclusive partnership" with #Chargers. It's #Rams and #Chargers.

Nothing sourced yet, but it's close to official. Exciting times to get our team back finally.
