The Rose Bowl is such a special venue. It would be incredible to have an NFL team there, but it isn't happening. All the old geezers flipped out when Eminem performed two shows. Could you imagine 50,000+ people tailgating? Pure madness.

Coliseum is awesome Ron. And it'll be even more awesome after the $200+ million renovations.

I don't mind the Coliseum. I saw my first Rams game there in 1968, a 10-10 tie with the Atlanta Falcons. I also saw Willie Ellison set the highest single-player rushing yards record in 1971, 247 yards at the time. Some awesome Rams memories, to be sure.

It'll be real interesting to see how this plays out. Have to think that St. Louis still has a team come next season whether it's the Rams or not. If the Raiders move down to LA, they have to share a stadium with someone. Mark Davis does not have near enough money to build his own stadium. His net worth stands at $500M which is tied for last among NFL owners with Dan Rooney (for comparison: Kroenke is second with just over $5B and Spanos is 26th with $1B but that's still double the money Davis has).

Sorry dude, that's not how it works.

So the vote is next week huh? 2016 may be a banner year for us. El Nino, an NFL team(s) and full marijuana legalization.

I know a lot of family members (and their friends) that are still Rams fans after all these years.

Kroenke is filthy rich and owns a huge portfolio of teams.

I would be a Rams fan again if they came back. I blame Georgia, not the current management

I remember when Ram fans felt the same way, telling that ***** to sell the team to a real owner who would keep the team in Anaheim.

Her answer? She moved the ****ing team.

Guess turnabout is fair play, right?

If the Rams moved to a new stadium in Southern California along with just about any AFC team that wants to move there, it would along with the Dallas Cowboy's venue, be one of the crown jewels of the NFL.

The changing demographics of Southern California may catch up to that scenario eventually, but I don't see it happening for at least another 15 years or so.

What is so special about it? seriously.

And saying they're "historic" doesn't count.

Both the Rose Bowl and Coliseum are dumps that no one can get to. They are white elephants that have kept L.A. from getting a football team for 20+ years.

My first Rams game was vs Minnesota in the late '70s, and when we parked on someone's front lawn, even young and stupid me knew this place was pure ****. And the funny part is that I can still park on that's guys lawn all these years later. There has been no improvement.  That's just embarrassing.

Also for both venues, every row is a worse view angle than the row in front of you. You really can't "renovate" that without tearing that **** down and starting over. Like I said, white elephants.

Agreed.

After not having an NFL team for the past 10 years (or so as it seems), it would be really nice having 2 teams in LA. That is, as long as one of the teams is the Rams.

When you have two venues that were built in 1921, history absolutely factors into it.

I've seen many games at both venues. My family has tons of USC alumni and have been season ticket holders for over 25 years. Visiting them and seeing that magnificent building that is nearly 100 years old always put a smile on my face and brought up great, and not so great, memories. Walking the field and knowing how many legends played there always gave me goosebumps.

I lived walking distance from the Rose Bowl for many, many years and it brought up the same emotions. It's a special location with the San Gabriel Mountains in the background.

Both hold a very special place in my heart.

Congrats to Mike Piazza on getting inducted, should have been a first-ballot inductee. As expected, he's going in as a Met. One of the serious blunders of the Dodgers franchise was trading him to Flirida. Makes me wonder how differently the '90s would have gone if we have never traded him, didn't trade Pedro Martinez for Delino DeShields, and hadn't refused to trade Darren ****ing Dreifort for Randy Johnson.

The beginning of the end of my rabid fandom of the Dodgers. Now, I couldn't care less about the Dodgers, and that's a sad thing.

Fox traded Mike Piazza. From the reports and some rumors I heard the trade was all but consummated behind Claire's back. Mike didn't want to leave.

Pedro for Delino was Fred's worst trade.

All of this just makes me sad realizing how ****ed up Dodgers management has been since the O'Mallys sold the team.
Fox bought it because Rupert hated Ted Turner and wanted to bury the Braves and The New Sheriff was brought in who was more successful fighting opposing fans than putting together a team
McBankrupt is still haunting the team
The current ownership has alienation a majority of the fanbase with the horrid TV deal

This ****ing sucks

Amazing how a once revered organization can suffer from decades of failure due to idiots being in charge, which is exactly what happened with Chicago under Wirtz and the Leafs under Ballard, and it's happening with another LA team with Jim Buss and the Lakers.

I don't have much hope with the Guggenheim Partners. They spent money foolishly and now are rethinking that strategy and lost one of their aces in Greinke to a division rival and are hoping guys returning from long term injuries will be good enough to replace him.

They're going to wear down Kershaw and in a couple of years he'll either bolt or his body will be worn out and we'll see the same process all over again with the team going through another "rebuild." They'll just disguise their financial losses as a "rebuild" and use that crutch to save all of that lost money. Then again, they might just be sitting comfortably on that stupid TV contract courtesy of Time Warner and may very well turn a profit from that contract alone while shedding some contracts.
