Not a huge Colin Cowherd fan, but he's not wrong.

It's not all Hackett's fault that Russ can't play anymore but the teams isn't close at all.

When you have the #1 defense in the league you've got to be able to at least have a winning record. It's frustrating to think we'd be 7-2 if we could have managed just 18 pts in every game. That's basically 2 TDs and 2 FGs, not exactly hard to do.

I fully expect him to get canned after we get shelled by the Raiders at home this weekend.

And when Russ continues to suck under the interim coach, cause he will. I fully expect a hard push by management/owners to do everything possible to get him out of here as well.

And fully expect Paton to be shown out after that for bumbling the coach selection and giving Russ a huge payday without playing a snap.

A year like this with new owners who rode with what was in place already, screams cleaning house. I expect they'll want to involved in decisions moving forward.

Hacketts system and play calls are awful. I won’t argue that.
But I don’t see how that affects Wilson’s non existent accuracy, how often he is just throwing the ball
straight to the other team and his complete inability to find open receivers. That’s not a Hackett problem. I mean it could certainly get better under a different coach and Hackett has to go. But Wilson is very much part of the problem.
Yeah, I won’t argue Wilson has been any good much at all. I’ve seen him miss reads and passes I could make, and more than once or twice.

My argument is more along the lines that a team has a lot of working parts and if the head coach is incompetent it can affect a lot of things.

Could be Wilson is washed up, too. I’m just going to wait to get out the pitchforks until I see him playing with a new coach.

Contract was always going to get signed when he arrived. Kind of the hammer he had since he did own a ntc. Denver structured it the way hey did taking advantage of the $24 mill dead cap that seattle had to eat for the balance of Wilson’s SB and Restructure.

this is a great post ^^^

Blaming the GM and Broncos for signing him is definitely pointless.

Part of me unfortunately feels like Wilson has already hung it up in this league and doesn’t really give two sh*ts what happens every Sunday. He got his monster contract and tons of money. I don’t get the vibe that he actually even really cares that they’re losing which makes me think he’s already quit the team and the league.

I agree. Which is also completely shocking considering he's one of the most conscious people about how he's viewed as I've ever seen.

This isn't at all shocking. Russ got paid without playing a snap and he completely packed it in. I've been saying this for weeks now. I'm glad someone in the media has the balls to say it.

It's not hard to tell that he has no idea what the play calls are, nor does he care. It's not hard to see when Russ can't execute a simple high school level play.

Hackett is struggling but it doesn't help that he is also getting screwed over by an arrogant ass QB who decided he didn't give a shit anymore and just wants his money.

Still can't believe we gave Michael Porter Jr. a max deal. With Jokic out, last night vs. the NY, he went 1-8, scoring 5 points in the game. 5 pts... Last game, he had a career high 31. If you're going to be a max player, you need to be somewhat consistent.

He was bad last night. What scares me the most is Jamal seems to not engage MPJ. If those cannot work together than the Nuggs will need to make some big move to shake it up.

Also if DeAndre Jordan is playing more than 8 minutes, it's a problem. His knees are taped together and he cannot jump.

Yep. Hackett is embarrassingly incompetent. Not all of his failures can be pinned on Russ.
I'm going to go ahead and disagree with this.

Hackett is in a literal no win situation.

If he puts his foot down and says Russ we are running my offense. Russ pouts and doesn't run it well on purpose and probably goes to management and owners with all sorts of demands. And who are they going to side with a first year coach or the guy they just gave 250M to? They made that call when they gave Russ 250M.

Or the other scenario is Hackett let's Russ run the offense he wants to run, we still suck because Russ doesn't give a shit but it still falls on the coach because it couldn't possibly be the player's who are f***ing up. And Hackett gets fired.

You got a arrogant 250M diva QB who is calling all the shots, and there is one to blame other than Russ and Paton got giving him that absurd contract without earning it.

There is a Russ problem and the only way it gets resolved is if you find a established winning coach who doesn't give a shit about a diva QB and will just do things his way anyway. And if Russ doesn't play ball he sits on the bench.

Unfortunately the coach I described is few and far between.

There are fundamental Coaching 101 things he’s f***ing up. That’s on Hackett.

100% Hackett has failed, clearly wasn't ready to be a head coach and didn't surround himself with a good staff outside of Evero.

But IMO more blame should fall on Russ. He's been on straight don't give a shit mode since day 1.

Kind of hard to be a successful coach if your 250M QB hasn't given 1 shit all season. No coach would be successful with the Russ that's been on the field this year. It's very clear Russ spent minimal time preparing for this season. All you have to do is go look at his social media from the off-season and it looks like a spoiled arrogant celebrity traveling the world and bragging about it, not a football player trying to get ready for a new team and new start.

That’s the dynamic I hate about pro sports - win or lose these fools still make their $20M dollars.

youre really rolling the dice with giving anyone huge money if they don’t have a crazy obsession with winning. Peyton had it, Jordan had it…..I think Jokic may have it. Those guys seem like a dying breed these days.

They are entertainers and we pay money to be entertained. Winning is a nice bonus but note we buy the tickets, watch the ads, buy the merchandise and so on irregardless of the wins and losses. And pay once off rookie deals is generally correlated with who we are paying to see. I'm going to the Raiders game to see Wilson play, good or bad, not to watch the long snapper or the punter. If I go to the Nuggets game this week it will be because Joker is back, if he's out then I'll pass on the game. That's how pro sports works despite many wishes to have it results oriented, it's still a game and I'm still paying to be entertained so salaries get paid as they are.

Did you ever think that maybe that's what Wilson is doing now and has been doing ever since he saw early on that it wasn't going to work with this coach because of a variety of reasons?

I'm not saying that is for sure what's happening but if the Broncos finish with a decent record, maybe he'd need to endure this guy for several years instead of just 1.

Besides, I didn't see ANY difference with this offence when Rypien was playing against the jets and we lost 16 to 9.

You would think it would look different and 'better' with a QB that was 'prepared' and didn't post Instagram pics of his vacation around the world but it didn't.
