I don't get the fanbase and their reaction to this. Would people now prefer he just give up and stay injured? Would they prefer he say yeah we stink and we are done for the year? All this talk of trading everyone is equally stupid, what is a 3rd round pick going to get us in a year that makes it worth trading productive players now? If Jerry or Bradley were pulling diva moves and sitting out of practices go ahead and trade them. They aren't and Russ isn't. They want to win, they are pissed off more than any fan is for losing right now. People should appreciate that they still care but it's gotten to the point that anything Russ says is just going to rile up so called fans.

They say you learn a lot more about people in tough times than good ones and man isn't this the case now. Most of the so called fans could certainly be upset or even apathetic, but the level of turning on the team and its players and coaches in our times these days is incredible.
You don’t get why the fanbase is frustrated? I mean… really?

Going into our 7th straight losing season. This isn’t a fair weather fan episode. The team is lucky to have all these people still interested and passionate about the team.
The Monforts are lucky. The team would benefit from some financial motivation to behave with some competence.

It hasn't yet for me but when does apathy start to set in? unless we get a haul for Chubb or a Jeudy we won't even have any decent draft picks for another year.

I doubt you get the SF haul for Armstead of a mid first. Indy thought they had Luck coming back but he didn’t. They figured they were ready to move forward at the time.

With Chubb, it’s going to be the contract moving forward and DE get paid a premium that impacts the return.

I’d move one of Jeudy or Hamler. Best case for Hamler is a Toney return of a third. Jeudy, they need to decide whether to pick up his 5th year option or not this off-season. That could be anywhere from between $12.5 to $13.5 mill or upwards of $16.5 mill if he makes a pro bowl next season as he’s not doing it this season. That is fully guaranteed once they pick it up.

I think Chubb is a FA at the end of the year, so they at least have to get back what they'd expect as a compensation pick. I'm guessing that'd be a 1st or 2nd but not sure.....Anyways, unless they get something close to the comp level, there's no point in trading him.....And I say this as a non-Chubb fan.

You don't trade young guys, you trade veterans which other teams covet and get yourself an open slot to promote younger players who you want to give more time to. Unless Chubb has told the team through his agent there is 0% chance of signing him then there is no amount of trade capital they could get which makes sense to take. He's not really blocking a prospect and the type of trade value you get for a soon to be free agent isn't that high. Tradeable guys are something like Gordon or Jackson, not that either is worth much but those are the types of guys you put on the market and see if anyone has a 5th or 6th they will spare for vets that could fill a hole. If Stearns wasn't hurt I think Jackson very well would be a guy to consider moving.

Winning today was probably the worst thing that could have happened. I can't believe Lawrence could throw that many errant passes.
Agreed very underserved win. If Jax just runs the ball early the 2nd quarter from the 1 it's 14-0 and the game is over.

Instead Lawrence forces a bad pass gets intercepted and the Broncos stay alive.

How you win a game without a first down until 7 mins left in the 2nd quarter and like 15 penalties is beyond me.

It's pretty insane how bad the Broncos are. They need be selling the farm and trying to recoup some lost picks from the Wilson deal. This win shouldn't change this, they still suck.

Lawrence is looking nothing like the supposed "generational" QB he was hyped as being during his draft year. My god he was terrible against the Broncos.

And yes, you trade Chubb the very instant someone offers you a 1st round pick. He's not a game changing LB/EDGE rusher and he's extremely injury prone. Get back valuable picks for guys like that.

In fairness the Broncos defense has made pretty much every offense look mediocre. Outside the Raiders game the highest point total the Broncos have given up is 19.

Lawrence as a whole has looked pretty reasonable this year. I almost consider him a rookie again this year after that shit show lost development year under Urban. That was an absolute debacle hiring Urban.

As for the Broncos if they aren't selling the farm this week they f***ed up. Got to recoup some lost picks from acquiring Wilson.

I'd be listening on Chubb, Gordon and Sutton mainly. I'd also be willing to listen on Simmons. If you could deal those 4 guys and recoup 2 firsts, maybe 2 2nds a 3rd, and a 4th/5th that would be a great start to revamping the culture on this team and building around guys like Surtain.

Theres no chance anyone will pay anything for Gordon. The dude came back to the broncos for cheap after no one gave him an offer he wanted and that was before the fumble streak.

You never know, there might be a team with injury issues that needs a backup and is willing to part with a late round pick to have a guy who has some experience.

I guess. I mean if you can get something than cool but I imagine it’ll be a like a 6th/7th at best.

The highest comp pick is a 3rd rounder. And it’s not guaranteed. It can be netted off against what the broncos do in the off season. If they sign an OL to a big deal that would likely negate the comp pick for Chubb for example.

BB has consistently over the years moved his guys if he had plans to spend in the off season to ensure he got a pick for his soon to be free agents.

Right now the Dolphins, Jets, Ravens or Bengals, and a chargers are ahead in the WC race. Plus a other teams have 3 wins as well.

If someone is willing to give a 1st for Chubb, like the reports are saying, you absolutely do it. Chubb is an injury magnet! It's only a matter of time before he's out again.
If that's true then sure it's a decent trade and should be made. I have serious doubts if it's true. Is Chubb a more productive player than Von? What did Von get in picks? If there was good term left on his deal then you could get more for Chubb but he's about to hit the market so his age and potential improvement shouldn't factor much into his trade value. It should be how much can you expect out of him the rest of this season on another squad and I just can't see anyone concluding that's even a late first.

Miller deal is probably a best case for Chubb. It’s going to be a big ticket deal for next season. That was a 2 and 3 I believe. Probably a 2 and a day 3 pick if they move him.

Talking about Bellicheck. Chandler Jones in a fairly similar situation got a late 2nd and required the Pats to take back another contract of a so so player. Sounds about right, early 3rd/very late 2nd is about Chubb's value. If someone wants to overpay then a deal will get done because I kind of agree with the sentiment that the Broncos don't want to take on his injury or just performance risk in his likely to be huge next contract.
