Getting rid of Jay Cutler was one of the best moves in Broncos history.

Everything else McDaniels did was garbage, but Jay Cutler is a loser to the very core of his being and if we'd kept him we wouldn't have gotten Manning.

I don't mind one bit them getting rid of that stupid bassett hound (I cannot believe some women think he's hot), I just hate the insanely clumsy and awkward way they did it. That didn't speak to any sort of grand plan or scheme, that just spoke to McDaniels' sheer incompetence and inability to communicate in even the simplest of terms.

It also led to them acquiring my least favorite Bronco of all time, so f*** McDaniels forever, even if Cutler was no big loss.

He looks like someone remembered to give him the bags under them but forgot to actually add the eyes

Actual Bassett hounds definitely have noticeable eyes but I get the comparison even if it’s a little unflattering to a dog that’s so ugly it’s cute

Nikola Jokic and Julian Strawther are both back in action for the Nuggets tonight.

Back to full availability, minus poor Vlatko Cancar.

Check out this gem -

With new coaching staffs being assembled around the NFL, one of the hidden factors that lead to coaches selecting teams to work is participation in the league’s pension program. One of the most despicable things done by the NFL owners and commissioner Roger Goodell is allowing teams to opt out of the pension program. In 2009, the owners voted to make the pension, the 401(k) and current supplemental retirement plan non-mandatory for NFL franchises. As a result, the majority of teams in the league have excited the pension program. Some teams offer a 401(k) plan, but in speaking to sources who were with a pension team previously, and now are with a 401(k) team, they said the pension plan is much better. According to league contacts, these are the only teams that are currently in the pension program:

Baltimore Ravens
Chicago Bears
Detroit Lions
Green Bay Packers
Las Vegas Raiders
Miami Dolphins
Minnesota Vikings
New York Giants
Philadelphia Eagles
Pittsburgh Steelers
Seattle Seahawks
Tennessee Titans – frozen to new employees on June 2, 2022

Anyone know anything about this cat?
He seems like an interesting project. I would rather the Broncos swing for the fences in the first round on someone like Nix, but if he's still around late in the draft. I wouldn't mind the Broncos using a 5th on him.

If he's the only QB they pick and grab him in round 2 or 3, I'll be pretty upset.

If Nix isn’t there I think they should trade down. Only issue is that the reports out of the Senior Bowl is that Nix has been the best QB there by a mile.

It’s supposedly a really deep OT class - would love to see them get a lineman and a QB in the 2nd/3rd rounds if Nix is gone. The only other QB I like so far is Jayden Daniel’s but I think he’s long gone by 12. I’m not buyin the hype on McCarthy.

I think they are more than 50/50 to trade down. At 12 though you can't make a deal until the draft goes down. I think if they gamble on it, one of their QB prospects could be there in the 2nd or 3rd round and they can use a lower 1st to take advantage of a deep OL pool. They may lose a shot at a guy they like but if they have 3 or 4 they would take then they could get some good value. To me there are so many holes they could use upgrades for and maybe even get starters like at C or ILB in later rounds that can provide the cap relief they need.

People were upset because the JaMychal Green trade was seen as a salary dump but the pick they got for him was used on Peyton Watson.

KCP appeared to injure his hamstring late. Hopefully it's not too serious.

We only have 4 more games before February 22nd so Holiday, Braun, and Strawther should be able to carry us through then.

EDIT:
KCP just told Vic Lombardi on camera it was just a cramp, thankfully

Anyone got some good target names for the Nuggets?

Nick Richards came up in one of the articles I was lookin at. 7 foot 245 lb and on a 3 year $15M contract. Rebounder and shot blocker - trade away Zeke and some other dude for this guy. No matter what this deadline - I want Zeke gone.

Bringing Monte back? That would be…interesting. Not sure why they’d feel the need for another point guard. Though I did like Monte when he was in Denver.

Nuggets don't really need to make a trade.

Last year's playoff rotation was the starters plus Bruce Brown, Jeff Green, and Christian Braun.

This year Reggie Jackson replaces Bruce's guard duties, Peyton Watson replaces both Green and Brown's wing defensive duties, and Braun is still Braun.

Feels like the TDL is about moving on from Zeke as much as filling needs. Since the Nuggets have so many developing young assets Im sure they wouldn't mind giving up picks to move that deal.

Oui oui Monte!

I dunno if they need another point or winger. I’d probably pass unless they were an awesome fit. I didn’t think I’d be sayin this before the season began but Watson is like a top tier lock down perimeter player right now (maybe even the best in the league) and MPJ’s three point shooting just feels like it’s sufficient? Strawther can fill in there as well but I’m not sure he could at end of games. I’d just like to see a young big to give Joker some more rest and possibly still be competitive if he’s out. It’d be nice to have someone to also match up against guys like Gobert or Davis on the defensive end.

I think the FO is thinking about next year as well if they get him. KCP seems likely to opt out of his deal and that's probably why they aren't as concerned about the 2nd apron as you are. If they don't have KCP then Morris becomes an important piece again. Not as good a fit but hard to keep the gang together.

Nuggets basically have 0 cap flexibility to make any big trades, especially when including Nnaji this year. Bennett Durando wrote an article on it

Monte Morris is a terrible fit with this team unless they're trading away Reggie Jackson. Murray & Jackson together already hurts the team's defense.

Someone who follows the Premier League will have to explain Wolverhampton Wanderers to me. Why do they call themselves the Wolves? Isn’t the nickname right there?
If I remember correctly they were called the wanderers because they were a team that would take in players in the 18/1900’s that would look for teams that they could have a spot on. Aka wanderers. I think Wolves just comes from the first part of the name/where they’re located.
