Mahomes is legit and will be a top 5 QB ever... he's not above the jackass-ery though. Just look at his comments last night after winning that were a shot at how Cincinatti celebrated last year.

Personally, I think Jalen Hurts is one of the best stories in sports and would love to see him grab the title to secure the cycle.

They wanted to do a paternity test to see if Burrow is his father, hench! He had to have been seething the entire week.

I like Hurts and I agree his story is great. This is where the other side I just complained about kicks in for me though. I'm still not over the ass kicking the Eagles put on my Vikings in 2017 and the subsequent trash talk that has gone on for 4 years. That has nothing to do with Hurts but I can't root for them whatsoever.

Probably will cost me my Broncos Fan Card but like that's worth anything these days...

I like Mahomes, I don't mind Herbert either. I despised Philip Rivers, and was pretty meh on any of the various QBs the Chiefs cycled through over the decades. I actually kinda liked/felt sorry for Stan Humphries, dude gave his all for a franchise that seems perpetually doomed.

Nah Chet, Ossai clearly commits the foul, that much is correct.

However, you are right that they missed, at the very least, holding on Hendrickson on that same play.

They also incorrectly called Hilton on DPI, missed Jones' Illegal Hands to the Face on the Burrow intentional grounding call, missed a block in the back on Moore's good punt return, and a pretty blatant Roughing the QB earlier in the game.

All in all, that officiating crew should be embarrassed by what they did. At key and critical moments of the game, the 100% interjected themselves and provided a clear-cut one-sided advantage to KC. And as a KS resident, I have to listen to dumbass KC bandwagoners for the next 2 weeks.
Disagree 58 shouldn't have been flagged for a late hit. That kind of play happens every single week and doesn't get called.

The intention of the hate hit penalty was to eliminate players from taking cheap shots way out of bounds. Not a slight shoulder graze a half step late. This was not a super late cheap shot by 58, very poor call by the refs.

Couple that with all the penalties that were or were not called that you mentioned above and makes you wonder. Pretty piss poor reffing that absolutely favored one team. Not a great look in a championship game.

Mahomes is awesome. And very humble for someone who grew up the kid of a MLB player -- sometimes there's some entitlement brewed into those kids. I am definitely biased as a Chiefs fan, but he doesn't give off any hateworthy vibes to me. He's the anti-Rodgers. As far as people talking him up, I've had to hear that about Brady for 37 years now, and yes that can be annoying, but so is east coast bias and all the other stupidity you deal with on national broadcasts of sports. Comes with the territory.

I was hoping the Niners would win yesterday but I have never seen so much weird and crazy stuff happen in a championship game. It was one of the least fun to watch games I've ever seen, just disjointed and a series of misfortunes and stupid plays and decisions.

I do agree the reffing was... interesting to say the least. But the call on Ossai was the least of my concern when in that regard. The complete redo of that 3rd down was really perked my ears up.

That was 100% a penalty, every time. If you shove a player once they've gone out of bounds that's getting called. The player knew he screwed up, no one was trying to argue the call, and he sat there holding his head for a long time after the game because he messed up.

Mahomes lack of hate-ability is pretty insane as well considering his brother and wife lmao.

Again, disagree Chet. Mahomes was clearly already out. One foot already touched down and the 2nd was coming down when Ossai hit him. Now, Ossai admitted after the game that he didn't know they were OoB, but that's beside the point. That's 100% a penalty and should be called.

Now...they missed an EVEN MORE OBVIOUS late OoB hit from a Chiefs player on Tee Higgins earlier in the game lol. Like this was was even more egregious.

At the end of the day, Cincy had opportunities, but they didn't capitalize. For the life of me, I cannot understand why they went deep ball TWICE on whatever it was (2nd or 3rd down and 3 or 4 yards) and just didn't run the ball. I mean okay, on ONE of those down you try the long pass if you want, but they f***ing went to it 2x in a row. I think Mixon or Perine would've gotten a 1st and the drive keeps going.

But in the end--go Philly, but I'm an Eagles fan anyway lol (and I'd like to think the Philly board would vouch for me on that one)

I thought that was a penalty by the letter of the law, for sure. The question to me becomes whether or not it should have been called or not. I don't think I would have called it given the situation because it really wasn't egregious enough for me.

Then again I am always the guy screaming at NHL refs for not calling penalties by the books and the "game management" that goes on, so I can't blame the guy for calling it.

Tough way to lose a game, though.

The Bengals have a legit gripe the way the entire game was officiated.

They can't complain for one second about that call, though. Mahomes is fully out of bounds, not half a step, and gets shoved. That gets called every time idgaf if your name is Patrick Mahomes or Paxton Lynch. One of the dumbest plays I have ever seen a defender make late in a game.

Fly Eagles Fly!

Fornicate the chiefs. I hate that the NFL gives them so many advantages in playoff games. In the SB they lost to Brady and Bucs their O-Line was called for holding all game long, as is proper given their play, and could not muster any offense. Do that every game and they'll are revealed to be nothing special.

Side-note: Despite the Broncos woes this season they played the chiefs well in both games. Not a "moral victory," just an acknowledgement of the job done.

Pretty much means Bones is gone

Doesn't seem to make sense to deal away a player for a pick at a time you should be going for it but then again the NBA oftentimes makes no sense to me.

A shame if he leaves. Obviously has his flaws as a player, but seems like a pretty talented kid who loves playing to the crowd whenever he can.

It only makes sense if they are really going for it this year. They have no 1st rounder to deal, and unfortunately, Bones is probably the only non-starter that would get a 1st.

Bones is one of the worst defenders in the league. Top 10 worst if you trust advanced stats.

For as much offense as he generates it’s shocking that he has a negative net rating. He’s seriously that bad of a defensive player.

Aaron Gordon leads the league in net rating which is pretty cool. He’s become the complete package this year.

I've watched that same play happen almost every single weekend a defender gives a light shove to a player who was just barely out of bounds. Gets called maybe 30% of the time.

I guess if you want to take the rule book verbatim then I guess it's a penalty. But clearly the refs weren't taking the rule book verbatim since they going very lenient/bending the rules for KC. Given time and place, calling that one on 58 is a tough look by the league. At that juncture the only late hit that should have been called should have been an intentional 3 steps out of bounds attempt to injure/take a cheap shot at a player. Which this clearly wasn't. Throw in the rest of the games officiating and Cinny has a legit case of the league rigging the game. That game just left a sour taste in my mouth, easily the worst one sided reffing I've seen in a big game, in quite some time.

I Don't know basketball all that well, but wouldn't you want to keep him for the playoffs? Or at least trade him for someone that'll help this year? Why trade him for a draft pick?

his contract comes up around the same time as Blue Arrow's does, so maybe they figure Blue Arrow is going to recover successfully from his injury......swap Bones out now for a pick while he has value and get some cap room now and in the future to retain Blue Arrow.....

This probably opens up minutes for Braun as well, who is way better defensively and probably better geared for playoff basketball than Bones is. You can't play Bones in the last 5-10 mins of a playoff game because he'll just absolutely get exposed.
