Wait, if the Big Ten stays at eighteen and sticks with the two division format, the geographic split would be in Illinois, so it’d be up in the air which division that Illinois ends up in.

hmmmm….

The end goal has always been Notre Dame. They could have 24 teams, but until Notre Dame is in the Big ## they will keep adding teams.

The two division format is going away next year. Or was going to, at least. It’s funny they had a whole schedule release and now have to re-do it.

Not really. Notre Dame doesn’t add anything to the table from the Big Ten’s perspective, other than adding variety to their hockey schedule. Big Ten wants to expand their footprint, and they’ve got Indiana locked down already, and ND’s supposed national draw is to the tune of less than individual members schools get from the BTN on an NBC deal that most think wasn’t even a smart move by NBC to begin with.

Honestly forgot about that.

This years Braves will go down as one of the all-time elite teams. They’re a mini-dynasty in the making with this entire era going back to 2020, but this 2023 version in particular is just ridiculously good.

They’re special. Fried looked outstanding today in his return, and Wright will be back soon too.

And their lineup 1-9 is one of the best IN MAJOR LEAGUE HISTORY.

And when they lose to the Dodgers or Phillies in the playoffs?

Philadelphia for whatever reasons doesn't seem to have last year's magic. They're going to struggle the rest of the year just to make the playoffs.

Right now LA seems like the only team who could beat Atlanta 4 of 7 - but their pitching is still pretty mediocre/injured and their trade deadline upgrades weren't exactly big (Lynn?). Another thing with Atlanta is they've won 70 games so far almost entirely without Fried, or Wright, two 20-game winners. Fried seems to be back and Wright I think is on track to be back in early Sept.

But it's true, anything can happen in baseball.

And the Boston Bruins is better than the Florida Panthers.

What’s your argument here? That underdogs are a safer bet than favorites? Im not saying upsets don’t happen, but generally speaking this Braves team has done very well in the post season and this version of that team has a strong chance of repeating similar success.

That was so amazing watching TA get the worst of that exchange, loved every bit of it. Man I can’t wait for him to eventually move on to another team and infect their roster with his excellent “leadership”. And that all-world defense.

Imagine a world where fights were allowed in all sports just like they are in hockey, and whenever 2 guys wanna go then the umps/refs/whoever just stand back and let them have at it until it’s time to step in and break it up. Pat Beverley would probably be fighting on a nightly basis in the NBA.

You sounded like you were ready to crown their arses.
