Apparently grandal wanted to leave early for the all star break and when Tim Anderson called him out for it, he slapped Anderson. Grandal received no punishment and even pinch hit that night. Tells you all you need to know

Apparently the full details are as follows:

Grandal wasn't playing in their last game before the break, and asked to leave for the break early. Management said no, and he started complaining about it. TA was apparently right there in the ice bath, since Grandal did this in PUBLIC, and said "I'll buy his plane ticket out of here." Then Grandal went over and slapped him while he was in the ice bath.

And if that altercation is true, and I believe it's so insane that it pretty much has to be true, Anderson's behavior this season starts to make sense. He's probably frustrated, angry, disappointed.... on top of playing hurt a good portion of the season.

TA will go to another organization and be right back to being the all-star he's been most of his time here. I really have no doubts about that. I think one of the biggest problems with TA here is that he's one of the few guys that actually gives a shit.

This organization actually brings out the WORST in players, when it should be bringing out the best.

Sell the f***ing team JR. This is all your doing.

Yikes doesn't do it justice. That's so bad.

Catcher's are made managers for a reason. You swallow shit as part of the position. From egomaniac pitchers and umps. If you've got a problematic catcher... Big yikes.

They're supposed to be a calming presence.

That's bad by even my low standards for them.

Also, Stanford and Cal to the Atlantic Coast Conference? Man alive, and people thought the Big Ten having 18 teams going to be dumb, but the ACC having a pair of Californias takes the cake.

Yeah, I'm sure a manager who was falling asleep in the dugout was really holding players accountable..... That's probably where the bullpen guy got the idea it was OK from. If the manager can take a nap in the dugout, why can't I nap in the bullpen?

The entire team regressed into dogshit when they fired Renteria. TLR was absolutely a problem, because he was an old, drunken asshole, who nobody in that clubhouse respected. It was a f***ing joke he was hired at his age and mental capacity. He also famously told players not to run 100% to first, to avoid injury.

The entire organization is rotten, and that starts at the top with JR. It ABSOLUTELY includes TLR.

Tim Anderson is, and has always been, part of the problem.

He’s supposed to be the leader and his constant antics and the team’s direction/trajectory under his “leadership” speak volumes. I agree that everything and everyone else is also to blame, but how can you exclude TA and make it sound like he’s some lone class act surrounded by a bunch of unprofessional morons? He is one of those morons, IMO.

Also in terms of pure baseball he’s incredibly overrated. Can’t play defense, doesn’t take walks, not much power….I mean why is he supposed to be some special player? Sox fans have always overrated him. He hit for a high batting average for a while and racked up a bunch of singles. Now he can’t even do that anymore.

But aside from that….he’s an absolute clown show. His behavior is absurd. His lack of leadership has left the team in shambles. If anything he deserves more blame. I don’t get why ur trying to exclude him of all players/people.

Grandal had problems in LA too.

He was a known problem waiting to happen, Sox of course acquired him.

Same reason they went out and signed Clevinger.

The entire organization is trash.

Grandal being a huge cancer is not at all surprising, either. I don't think I've ever heard a pitcher talk badly about a former catcher, but "Grandal being no friend to the pitchers" is a huge red flag. Asking management to leave for the break early, when your team still has a game to play, and then complaining about it when they tell you no? What the f***??

Giant pitchers (And larger part of team) hated AJ

Sox and Twin players loved him

I don’t get what’s funny….

Tim Anderson is the laughing stock of the entire MLB right now. He just got suspended(again) for 6 games. His behavior is ridiculous. His OPS is like .550.

What am I missing?

How can you sit here and defend this clown? He’s a big part of what’s wrong with the Sox culture. Not the biggest part. Not the entire issue, not all his fault. But to try and laugh off the idea that he deserves blame and deserves criticism at this point is just downright ignorant.

Someone really needed to flick the light switch up and down a few times.

Eloy Jiménez hobbling around after someone stepped on his foot pretty much sums up his Sox tenure.

Orioles' ownership doing its best to make Sox dysfunction a minor blip in media by taking up headlines now for this.

Absolutely absurd move by Orioles

Isn't that part of the job of the production crew to come up with graphics for the pre-game monologue? He wasn't going rogue and editorializing--he was setting up the game for fans watching and he likely had the green light for topic matter from his producer and the staff. The Blackhawks announcers always called out their struggles in Philly (non Cup Finals). Same thing, right?

Tough game last night for the Cubs, but just can't let this series get out of control now. Would be a shame to have those great series against the Reds and Braves, only to ruin it with the upcoming schedule they have.
