Up to a top 5-10 farm without trading Robert, Cease, Eloy, Moncada, TA.

Pretty nice.

(They were 12/13 before today's 2 trades)

12/13? What list are you looking at?

They were among worst in baseball at start of season

And  at listing Moncada

No one would give anything of value for someone as worthless as Moncada

I wish his ass would be DFA already. Truly one of the worst acquisitions in White Sox history giving away Sale for his ass + Kopech

I am sure one of the Moncada fanboys will come around to defend the soon to be 29 yr old waste of a roster spot

What kind of message? Are they five year olds? The message is we’re building a team and trying to accumulate the best possible talent.

If you think Stroman and Bellinger wouldn’t return anything worthwhile, then that’s a different argument, and most insiders strongly disagree with that.
Players like knowing the FO have their backs.

I can’t be upset about the Cubs strategy this year. Sure, they’re probably not going to make the playoffs, but it gives me something to watch and pay attention to instead of tuning out for the rest of the year. Didn’t give up much for trades, which was the “worry.” Every once in a while it’s okay not to totally tank.

What I mean is they were at 27 before the trades.

Up to 13 in fangraphs before yesterday's 2 deals. Could be top 10 now and plenty of ammo to make another deal or two and get into at or near top 5.

I was surprised as well that they jumped that much.

4-5 games back with what....55 games or so, is not insurmountable. Reds are a team that I feel will fade down the stretch (so could the Cubs, I know), Brewers are a different story. There's work to be done but the playoffs is not out of the question.

Cubs are clearly the best team in the division. They have been really unlucky. Check the analytics. Whether they overcome that, I am not sure, but I am more than fine with buying.

Giolito got annihilated in Atlanta today.....0-2 now with his new team.

Cubs should have a good test with Atlanta coming this weekend. At least they'll miss Strider, but Fried is coming off the DL to pitch Friday I think.

Dude who cares….honestly.

They literally just had a top 5 farm 4-5 years ago and they couldn’t develop it into anything worthwhile.

Now I’m supposed to get excited for the same inept front office to go and mess it all up again? 1/2 these players won’t even come close to reaching their full potential just because of how incompetent the organization is.

It’s pure insanity to be attempting another rebuild without first making changes/upgrades in the front office. So I could care less if the Sox wind up with the #1 prospect pool in all MLB, it’s not gonna pan out with what’s in place. JR is holding back the careers of young men and the hopes/dreams of fans all at once.

This ATL team is looking like an all-time great team in the making. They’ll win well over 100 and yes I know the playoffs matter most, but much of this core has won a WS together already, and they just made some upgrades to the pen which was their only weakness. They’re made for playoff baseball and they’re a historically incredible offense, by far the best in MLB. Gonna be very hard to beat them in a post season series.

Might be the last time we see Hendriks in a Sox uniform (he's due 15 million next season with a 1.5 million buyout). Another sad day.

Love when a reliever is rolling and they take him out and next batter instant home run. I realize its all math, but just funny.
