Grandal needs to be dumped in the offseason, or at least relegated to backup catcher. His only real value was his bat and he can't hit any more. Biggest contract in team history and it looks like they will end up getting maybe 150 decent games out of the guy. Good plan not signing 25-28 yr old guys because you might have to overpay them for 2 years at the end of the deal, better to sign 30+ yr olds and overpay them for all but 1 year! Keuchel, grandal, kelly, eaton, etc....whole lot of wasted money the past few years.

What a waste of $$

Imagine what/who the Sox could have had for the combined $ they spent on guys like Grandal, Eaton, Kelly, Harrison, Garcia, etc…

As other posters have said it’s not that we don’t spend, it’s that we choose to spend on the dumbest assets. We dump $$ into worthlessness.

And then hired an incompetent manager on top of it.

Better spend another 30mil on the bp this offseason so they can blow 50 games next year.
 
Sox now have 12 of their next 15 against Oakland, Colorado, and Detroit. If they're going to make a serious move, now is the time.

It would be just like the Sox to take 4 of 6 from Minn/Sea and then get beat a lot by the riffraff.
 
When the guys who are supposed to drive in a lot of runs ...the #3 and #4hitters ...get 5 RBIs combined ...you have a big score offense and a good chance to win...so Abreuvand Jimenez with a huge production game...has not happened much this season ....that Sheets gets 2 RBI without a hit also attests to his value..

They just got swept by the dbacks 2 weeks ago and lost 4 of 5 to the royals...

Seriously….this is the Moncada we were expecting him to become all these years. And this is the Sox offense I remember from 2020. Lots of homers, lots of power up and down the lineup.

Please keep it up! Hopefully Robert and TA will return soon, and hopefully Seby continues to play over Grandal. Grandal is worthless.

The DBacks are actually legitimately good.
 
So Moncada finally shows up in the form expected =to hit with some power and drive in runs in the production dept.

Where has this Moncada been all season?

Is this a mere flash in the pan...a brief "blast from the past?" to remind us of what hecSHOULD be contributing more often....a mere one -off...or will he now be "hot" at the plate during the remaining dash to the playoffs?

If he goes back to the useless at the plate form we have seen all season priorvtp this power show last night then Sox are not likely to win the Central and if not,be outvof pkayoffs..

He is a bog key to what this team ought to be offensively..

So to Jose and Eloy...When they all produce in the same gane it is a wonderous thing...More plesse!

They’re 25-18 in the 2nd half, lots of young talent. They had a slow start but like the O’s they’ve kept getting better and better.
 
If verlander comes back and pitches well it doesnt matter what Cease does IMO, they'll give it to verlander.
