If they don't sweep the upcoming series, I think theyre about cooked. Anything worse than 3-1 and the season is over for sure.

Your relationship with coaches was another issue. Most staffs today are highly collaborative. Your style is far more autonomous. Some coaches were OK with that, I’m told. Others were not. Your emphasis on hits and contact ran counter to the hitting coaches’ goals for achieving power through patience. Then, after a month, he’ll get a paper cut on his pinkie and won’t recover until late August.

Sox with 7-1 lead on Guardians

Lynn finishing this year strong is at least a good thing for next year as he has regained his stuff after spending most of year after coming back from injury struggling
 
Man, too bad tony was fine with punting 10 or 15 games before august or they would be in a much better position. Either they sweep the guardians or they basically need to hope for a complete cleveland collapse.

Yeah forget about hoping for a collapse. Let’s just take care of business and beat them head to head. If we sweep them we’ll also secure the tiebreaker. Which would be HUGE.

Sox finally showing off the XBHs and the HRs here in September. Combine that with strong starting pitching and wouldn’t you know it we’re 11-4 and look like a good baseball team again.

Just in time to make a final push to catch CLE.

According to espn it's a 19.8% chance...heh.

The Sox need to sweep Detroit this weekend. It's that's simple. And hope the Twins take 2 or 3 out of their 3 game series with Cleveland. A sweep is preferred. The Sox can deal with a surging Twins team later if they are fortunate enough for that to become a problem.

That’s it it’s over. I kno not technically, but IMO the Sox won’t recover from this loss. Bye bye playoffs. Maybe they prove me wrong but probably not. Can’t afford to lose even one game at this point on nights when CLE wins, but unfortunately that’s what just happened. 4 back. Too much to make up. By just a tad, but still too much. Too bad we couldn’t beat the Tigers or Rockies.

Yup. Tbh we don’t deserve to make the playoffs anyways. CLE is the better team. They have been all season. We’re not a contender either way. Long way from being on that level too. Lots of changes/upgrades are required. Starting with the manager.

Twins just pathetic showing vs Guardians this past series

Usually Twins play tough in these type of situations but they simply put up white flag the moment series began and let Guardians do what ever they wanted without much of a fight
 
Cleveland won again against the Twins, and so the Sox are 4 out. They have to sweep Cleveland or they're pretty much done. They lose the tiebreaker if they do not sweep them.
