And this is why run differential is a flaky stat to go by. It's kind of like +/- in hockey. Nearly half of that stat (20 of their minus 42) is from the Red Sox series that they lost 2 out of 3 in.
Keuchel sucks and hopefully will be released soon. Today maybe? Please?!?? And Cease had an uncharacteristic bad start. Stop overreacting. I know that's your schtick, though.
Now - if you had said they have all the makings of a .500 team that wont make the playoffs. At this point, you would have a solid point. They're basically a .500 team since what, the allstar break last year?
The alarming part to me is, they don't even seem to recognize the glaring holes on this team, that even casual fans can identify.
But there's a long way to go. Calm down. Lynn and Eloy are coming soon. I'd love to see the Eloy from 2020 make a reappearance.
The one big change I would make as soon as possible is fire the hitting coach. Guys like Moncada and Eloy seem like they need a different approach. We're in danger of some of these big prospects busting out if this lingers on too much longer.
We've seen the #'s for how Menechino teams are over the top with ground ball percentage, which works against how you win baseball games in this era. Especially with all the crazy analytical shifting that is constantly going on. It's hard to poke that ball through the infield, when they mathematically know where you hit it most of the time.
I just don't know if they could find a suitable replacement for Menechino in the middle of the season?
Anyway, go Sox!
