Sox pitching has been very good today. Offense not so much, but they are at least getting on base which is encouraging.

Edit: and anderson goes deep. Love to see it.

Now that was an impressive day for the Sox. Holding that offense to one run over 18 innings, some clutch late hitting and giving NY their first series loss of the year. Hopefully they can build on this.

This rotation is so filthy once Lynn is back. Hopefully the offense can at least be average.

Biggest flaw/concern in the grand scheme of things IMO remains the defense. Because idk if we have the ability to improve that aspect, whereas I know we have the ability to improve the performance of the offense and the bullpen.

I don't know if its temporary or not. But the defense already has been improving. Gavin Sheets made a nice catch in right field yesterday. TA finally has chilled on the errors recently.

It will be interesting to see where this team is near the deadline. And if things are looking good at that time - do they try to shore up some of the positions they've gotten little to no production from? 2B and Catcher come to mind right away.

Defense in baseball is almost entirely focus, work ethic, repetition. Defensive shifts make it much easier. The White Sox only have a couple guys who aren't naturally athletic. They can absolutely be a good defensive team, if they put the work into it.

CharlittexKinights have won only 1ofblastv7GP....In that span gave up 62 runs ... Yikes! Gave up 34 runs in lsst 3GP ...Yikes!

Clearly no pitching talent help coming down the pikevfrom Sox AAA farm club.

Yikes!

Birmingham Barons won only 1 of last 9GP...gave up 69 runs in this bad stretch.. Yikes...looks like no pitching help either from AA coming down the pike.

So in combined last 16GP the Sox 2 highest level farm teams won only 2 games and gave up a combined 131 runs...ifvtgat ain't yikes ,I do not know what is!

Kannapolis ,Sox farm team in Low A ball, justblost all of its 6 game set with Fayetteville and gave up 47 runs in this bad stretch.

More Yikes!

Winston-Sakem Dash, tge Sox farm team in High A ball, manged ax3-3 split of its 7 game set with Asheville...but in last 5 of these games gave up 37 runs.. more yikes!

Obviousl the pitchers in Sox farm system have mostly been struggling lately ...

Pitching coaches stinking? Cannotcteach tgese guys howcto pitch?

Or Sox drFt scoutsvofvpitchers goofing badly...

AnywY looks lije not much to get excited about from Sox gatm pitching given these recent shockingly bad performances across all levels of the farm system by the kids they have pitching.

Giving upb7 runs or more per game on average is not anything encouraging at all from the farm pitching in these recent examples of pitching downnonbtge various farm teams.

Yikes!

Sox dont have much in pipeline especially at Charlotte when it comes to pitching

Infact all the starters in AA and AAA are dreadful

That is why they plucked Cueto and Velasquez out of the clearance bin in offseason hoping they would work out (Velasquez has sucked, Cueto had good debut but was awful in AAA so we shall see)

And why they really have no other viable option now with Lopez injury when it comes to trotting out Kuechel and hoping for best

Rick Hahn and his staff have done awful job of drafting/developing pitching in organization and that has certainly been a major problem

And a couple guys they were high on failed at MLB level (Carson Fulmer, Erik Johnson, Andre Rienzo and god awful Dylan Covey)

I will never understand what the hell Sox saw in Covey

6-29 with 6.54 ERA in his 3 years with White Sox

Hahn/staff have also made some bad mistakes trading away good young arms who have found success elsewhere (Chris Bassitt and Frankie Montas)

:biglaugh:

That was his spring training. You can't really be this clueless.

Guy has 2 excellent starts, but oh no, those numbers when he was trying to get ready!
