The go excuse of "KW is all powerful" when reality is he is merely a figurehead at this point

This mess is on Hahn and his woeful performance at building roster

It's amazing the unwillingness to hold GMs accountable in Chicago and constant looking for an excuse to not hold them accountable
Its impossible to hold the owner accountable. The fish rots at the head.

The McCaskeys and Reinsdorf are bigger problems than their puppet FO.

Hahn doesn't set the budget and didn't get to pick his own manager.

But yeah, he's definitely where blame should most be directed.

Even if he is in charge, he's clearly not at risk of getting fired.

Isn’t Verlander having a better season than Cease in every category other than strikeouts?

But yeah Cease is the front runner if on a better team. Let’s see him throw even 170 innings before calling him the front runner of anything.

Lol

He’s 100% on the hot seat if this team misses the playoffs.

Yeah I think that Jerry and Kenny are pulling the strings. Hahn is just a puppet.
They're all responsible. TLR is probably the most likely to be quietly pulling strings, if that is happening. His offseason and spring training comments point towards moves being made that he wanted. Remember - we're not real White Sox fans if we want a new right fielder from outside the organization.

I don't absolve anyone of their responsibility, but Hahn probably has the least pull in the room with Jerry, Kenny, and TLR.

6 game suspension is all for Watson. Seems pretty light but assuming legality of it all is making that the option. I was assuming a year but…..

Lot of talk that the offers for Contreras are underwhelming. I’d much rather sign him or let him walk than trade him for mid-level prospects.

Sox havent been able to fill it in over a decade. They gave out the biggest contract in team history and that guy is a bum.

Sox also struggled to fill it for a good # of years after Karkovice retired and ended up with revolving door there with best C during that time being a few months of Charles Johnson

Who we should have probably re-signed but Sox thought highly of Mark Johnson who ended up being one of the biggest disappointments of that era of Sox prospects (Along with guys like Borchard, Ginter and Anderson)

5th in fWAR for catchers last year despite only playing 93 games, and 1st in wRC+, but sure.
He was good for a little over a half season last year. Once again perpetually injured only now hes also playing poorly as well. You can be a great player, but if you barely play half your teams games, I'd rather not have you.

Edit: -1.2 WAR this year. He's actually been worse than Leury by that metric. Let that sink in.

Sox have signed their top 11 picks plus their 20th pick from the MLB 2022 Draft....Sox spent $250,400 more than their allotted signing pool amount so have to pay $187,800 in a tax ....Since they used up only 3.8% in excess of their allotment and the first level of penalty tax at75% of the excess amount is upto 5% excess ,they could I think still use up the remaining 1.02% of their original pool allotment which is a bit over $69,000 to sign another couple of picks (from the unsigned pick#12 through #19) abd still only pay tge 1st level of penalty taxation 75% of tgat.

Whether they do go right to tge limit of this 1st level and sign a couple more or are finished sign pucks,I do not know...The signing deadline fron draft ends at 3pm EDT today I believe so still just over an hour to go,with the exception that
thisechigh school or junior college draftees who still have college eligibility have until just beforecthec20233 draft to sign with their draftingvteam..I am notcsurevifvthatvincurrs more penalties if used or is taken off next draft pool allotment if they do sign such draftees with college eligibility later.

Brewers lead the division by 3 and they trade one of their best players who is the exact kind of guy you need come playoff time.

That’d be grounds for me to find a new team to root for.

Hader hasn't been that good this year and they want to transition Williams into CP role

Getting that haul and moving Williams into CP role is great plan IMO

Also, there is talk Hader is bit of a prick when it comes to his usage which no manager would be thrilled with

Hader being an Allstar was a joke this year

He had two really terrible outings back to back that inflate his numbers. Still one of the best relievers in the game.

Montas trade reportedly close

Yankees favorites to land him

The Twins were after him in recent weeks as well

It's time for Cano to call it quits

He will be 40 yrs old in a couple months and has nothing left at this point

A's were looking to dump Trivino so wonder if they took lesser package to make it happen here

Trivino MLB career he has either been good or terrible with no in between

This year he has been horrendous

Yanks + Astros loading up today

A's got Yanks #5 (Waldichuk), #10 (Meidna), #20 (Sears) and #21 (Bowman) prospects in deal

I like Sears potential as a SP and he showed well in MLB this year

Overall a good package for A's for Montas while dumping Trivino

Trade from earlier saw Yanks move #7 in system to Cubs
