Not saying I know its a bad pick, but hasnt the biggest knock on the cubs since theo and jed took over that they never drafted and developed pitching? Seems weird to trust what looks like a reach when they havent shown anything to indicate they know better.

NL stinks. May as well just disband it and let the good players go to AL teams. :sarcasm:
I wish they'll end the whole NL/AL bullcrap. With universal DH, there is nothing to distinguishes one league from the other. I suggest that the two leading vote getters captain their own teams (like Team Trout .v. Team Soto, for example). The captains "Draft" their teams, similar to how the NBA runs their AS Game.

NL/AL is outdated and probably needs to go.

I was bored and turned the ASG on as background noise last night. Not sure if the sound was off or what but if you told me there were zero fans in attendance I’d have believed you.

You understand that there was no DH for the 1st 72 years of the AL and 1st 40 years of All-Star Games, right?

What distinguishes the AL & NL are the teams, and in particular, the ones have been in their league for over 100 years.

The NL/AL divide is really now nothing more than the AFC/NFC divide for the NFL. The MLB and NFL are fine with both leagues/conferences being represented across the country and don't need to do a strict east/west divide like the NHL and NBA follows. I don't see an unbalanced one-off ASG that most people ignore as a big enough of a reason to undue decades of rivalry history.

Wasn't alive those first 72 years. Don't really care. Are the Brewers a divisional rival or not?

It did not stop the NBA or the NHL. NL .v. AL is outdated period. Needs to go, screw tradition.

There's only one banner...MLB. NL/AL used to mean two separate, distinct leagues. Are there two different leagues? No. I don't care if the Cubs or the Sox have been in their respective leagues for over 100 years. Universally and schedule is cancelling out the NL/AL thing anyways. Interleague is happening everyday. There is distinction between the NL and AL anymore.

So if there isn't a distinction anymore, why does it matter if the NL and AL remain separate? I don't get the point being made about undoing them.

Also, the strict east/west divide in the NHL and NBA is nothing more than cost saving moves for travel. There's nothing intrinsically superior, nor is there anything inferior to that. And at least the current alignment keeps long established rivalries intact.

Right? It's no different than the NFC/AFC, which no one is calling to get rid of.

The MLB to me was more interesting when interleague play was more limited.

At this point may as well have one big league and better aligned geographically and time zone driven for divisions within.
I remember when i was younger it was a lot cooler to watch the Sox play the Giants or whoever in the NL. I think they only played 6 games total against teams from the NL and it would rotate divisions yearly. It was special.

I liked how the NHL was doing it before the switch as well. Yeah you didn't get to see Ovechkin play the Hawks every year but when it did happen it was way more interesting. Remember how Crosby didn't play a game in the United Center until 2013 or something? It made the other conference have a little more intrigue and mystery to it

Yea, just imagine if the loser red wings couldnt flee the central once it became a respectable conference.

Any suggestions to mish-mash the 2 leagues, or have a 'Team Lebron' style all-star game get a giant thumbs down from me.

I get both sides of this. But I really don't care to play the Royals and Tigers 17 times every year. It's overkill to me.

Luis Robert still being out with “light headedness” perfectly encapsulates this white Sox team. Such a disappointment. This lack of availability is comical. We need this guy to be out there. U gotta be kidding me he’s STILL “light headed”?!? How? Why? Wtf is wrong with him???? This team will never reach its potential. Too many fragile players. Nobody is reliable. What a joke.

U seriously can’t make this shit up….

“Robert is still experiencing blurry vision a week later…”

…..WHY?!?!?!?
Wtf????

Why is his vision blurry out of nowhere ? This is insane…

And anyone that thinks he’s actually coming back by next weekend is kidding themselves. I wouldn’t be surprised if he misses the remainder of the season at this rate…
