Brooks Lee is who I would have taken.

Its not an AWFUL pick, but my HS old baseball coach is really connected to the MLB and recruiting scene and said he sees him as a back end reliever when its all said and done.

Dylan Cease ends the 1st half of season

9-4
2.15 ERA
1.18 WHIP
150 K's
104.2 IP
2.6 WAR

And is not an AL Allstar

Absurd snub
Yeah. You could argue for him to be the starter. And he didn't even make the team. But that's fine - the Sox needed him today. If he was on the team, the Sox may of lost today.

Absolutely LOVE that the White Sox went the prep route. They desperately need more talent in the lower minor leagues.

Obviously there are things to clean up with Horton but you can see enough to see why the Cubs love him. The stuff is definitely there.

To call him a

And there's plenty of other people of similar background to your old baseball coach, that have said he has TORP potential. NOBODY knows what's going to happen with Horton until it happens. Let's see him throw a pitch in professional ball before we start labeling him.

I've seen mocks that had Horton as high as 13, so the Cubs did not reach for him, imo. I'm not saying you Tlehmann are saying, just I've seen some pissed off Cubs fans who believe Cubs reached for him.

The Cubs have to be very confident in their bats in the systems to pass on guys like Collier/Perada and Lee.

And Illnihockey, don't look at Horton's ERA in college because he is 53 IPs into his post TJS career. So his ERA in college is irrelevent.

I like what the Cubs did.

Stop pretending you know anything about the guy. It’s silly.

I know what his ERA was, I know he was not a first round pick before the college World Series. Maybe it’ll work out but his entire stock is tied to two games he pitched in the college World Series. How often do late risers succeed in any sport? Not often

You realize he had mono, right? Which is why he didn't pitch much his senior year.

Have you watched any film on him? Have you seen his slider? It's absolute filth...

You're the only guy I've seen anywhere shitting on this pick.

It stands to reason they’ve looked at everything in context. The Cubs also know his era. They’re not stupid.

His senior year of what? High school? He also started throwing a slider a month ago. Not a lot of film on it

They’re not stupid.

Are we sure about this?
