The hitting coach has been an obvious weakness/cause of the poor offense for months now…and still nothing has been done. This organization is inept. If this was a franchise like the NYY or LAD they would have swiftly identified the problem and swiftly made a change /upgrade. They wouldn’t settle for this nonsense.

But noooo not the White Sox. They’d rather keep this joke of a hitting coach in place cuz who knows, maybe he’s buddies with TLR and Jerry. Smh

Hitting coaches have little to no effect on anything at the major league level.
Gonna disagree with you on this one. Every team this guy is the hitting coach of has an obnoxious groundball problem. That might have worked great 20 or 30 years ago, but with shifts and all that, you really need to work launch angles in today's baseball.

By the time a hitter makes the big leagues their swings are entirely muscle memory. Coaches have no interest in altering swings/approach at that point, and they wouldn’t be able to if they tried. Main job of a hitting coach is to watch video and fix bad habits a player might fall into. It’s a pretty insignificant job pig picture.

Hahaha.

You think this is Robert's doing?

The context is what every SOX fan had seen this season, FM had ruined Robert.

But you're the expert in every clubhouse apparently, so keep telling us how it works...

Never claimed to be an expert in every clubhouse, but if that makes you feel better, you do you.

In his debut season, they sent him back out after a rain delay, in a start in which his velocity was way down. He ended up needing TJS after that start. Then whatever they're doing this year. The pandemic thing was his choice/not anyone's fault really.
Pitchers do go through dead arm periods where velocity goes down.
Unfortunately he needed tommy John like lots of pitchers do.
What are they doing wrong this year with him?
Giving him days off he’s not a point where he can take the ball every 5 days.

Think your grasping at straws here.

They're limiting his innings which they should be doing not pitching for basically 2 years.. BUT I do believe his knee is bothering him 100% and will likely need some sort of clean up in the off-season and he's just pitching through it.

Kopech got hurt on 6-12.

He's thrown 5 four seam fastballs 96 or higher since then. He had 64 before that.

He's not been the same pitcher since the knee injury and they're putting his arm in jeopardy by continuing to throw him out there.

He came to Chicago and got hurt

They then used him from pen (Something that even a great young SP in Sale did) and brought him along before giving him fulltime spot in rotation this year

It could be argued the Sox were extra careful and that other teams would not have been

Reaching for straws here to attack Sox management/upper management when everyone including Kopech seem to have been fine with his handling

The Sox are back to being good again! We’re coming for the division! We’re coming for the World Series! We’re on our way to the top and nobody can stand in our way not even the Tigers!!

A damning indictment of TLR.

So a quote from no one is damning indictment of TLR?

Sox are disappointing that is true and TLR needs to be better but as far as locker room leadership and general team morale don't seem to be issues. Players know they are playing poorly and take accountability of it same as TLR. And even guys like Anderson who were supposed to have issues with TLR hire have had no issues with him or coaching staff at this point and the "Whispers" this source claims haven't been showing up anywhere the last 2 years

I dont take "Unnamed sources" and "Whispers" as serious especially in this era when it's the go to for everything from media. Unnamed sources have become lazy way of reporting and in several instances actively proved to be untruths and raise questions about writers and bias they may have

It's not like situation like 04 Cubs in which Lockeroom is toxic and everyone is refusing to accept blame for situation or blaming media/outsiders (Remember Cub players publicly attacking Stone and others)
