Key matchup in the series is Jokić vs Clips centers. Murray will have a tough time on the perimeter, but Jokić needs to destroy Harrell every time he matches up against him. Zubac will be a far tougher task, but he needs to bring it in order for the Nuggets to have a chance.

Well, if ya can't stop Kawhi you're not winning this series period. Clips took care of the Nuggets as handily as most expected. But I figured they'd bow out in the previous series, so I hope they have a more concerted effort for game two.

They won't stop him, they have no hope in hell doing that, but they need Jokić to completely dominate the defensively inept Harrell and Zubac. Zubac is tough because of his length and you constantly need to follow him on the high pock and roll, but Jokić should be dominating

Well they gotta slow him down at least. Once the Nuggets got Harris back they finally figured out some way of getting Donovan Mitchell not to score at will. He "merely" put up 44 points in that game where Blue Arrow put up 50.

Nuggets set to promote Tommy Balcetis, their VP of strategy and analytics, to the assistant GM position. Calvin Booth was promoted to GM previously.

I'm curious how this front office works going forward. Is Connelly no longer in charge of day-to-day operations?

I really do wonder if the team hates MPJ because of his stance on certain things.

Like we all know Monte hates him.

(MPJ wasn't wrong with what he said after the game fwiw)

His comments on the pandemic are beyond asinine, but no, he wasn't wrong on his comments last night. If you just rely on two players to win games, all the opposition has to do is zero in on those two guys.

Football starts again today. I'm having a hard time getting excited about it because of the Von injury. Also the fact that KC won last year and might win again makes me want to puke. I have nothing against Mahomes, but I despise everything else about that team. I hope they flop now that they got their title, but I doubt that will happen.:(

I'm resigned to the Chiefs being the Class of the AFC for the next five years or so. Better than if it was the Raiders, that I would find unpalatable. I actually like Mahomes and Kelce.

So long as the Broncos are competitive I'm fine with it. The Von injury is not good obviously, but I think anyone who was decrying the Chubb pick because it felt redundant is probably gonna be quiet now.

Now if HE gets injured again, then the Broncos are in big trouble.

Well they did say that Chubb isn't 100% right now and won't say why that is. No one knows if it's still a lingering issue from last year's injury or something new. So that doesn't build too much confidence.

I just hope Lock can take some strides this year and be our unquestioned starting QB for at least a couple of years.
