You think South sells JayRod and Schneider? After gutting the club they've sworn they won't but I'd be hard pressed to expect either to stick around on an obvious sinking ship.

Schneiderlin is begging to go. Rodriguez is 3 months removed from ACL surgery so he has little value now. Don't think they'll sell anymore but they may in January

What do you guys think about Arrieta and Castro for Stanton. I can't decide who it is better for. It feels like an unbeatable offer for a player everyone will be after. The cost control of Jake and Starlin's team friendly contract make a lot of sense for Miami.

Iove Stanton but cubs have to hold on to some pitching and who knows what Stanton will demand for his next contract.

Man, watching what Machado and Simmons are doing on the left side of the infield for their respective squads is like watching fielding porn. It's just ridiculous. The arguably two best infield arms in baseball each possess plus range.

Maybe I am admiring it too much, but I just marvel how easily they each make extraneous circumstances to get outs look routine.

A's have a great staff and a great lineup. So do the Tigers. Baseball is a game of consistency. Every team wins a third of its games, and every team loses a third. Winning a seven game series doesn't make a team "better". It just makes them better that week.

Billy Beane says as much if you read Money Ball and don't just judge what it is off of the movie.

Edit: I think they're the two best teams in baseball, with Baltimore and St. Louis right behind them.

Uh, the Angels?

So... Buy/sell....

The 2014 trade deadline will be the Cubs' last as sellers.

I'm guessing one more year where we try to trade off guys for prospects, so sell.

Hard to say right now. If they are given more financial flexibility from a TV deal and get a guy like Lester, the odds they are a buyer increase.

I say they look to buy pieces but it doesn't mean they are truly in the thick of things. I think this is the last year they sell people off. I say they buy a few assets whether or not they are in the playoff race.

Yeah best of wishes to Paul George. That was awful. For those old enough to remember it, it reminded me of the Joe Theismann injury.

Wasn't feeling good, so went to bed very early only to wake up a short while ago. And when I did, I first checked Facebook and saw my newsfeed blow up with Hoosier friends freaking out about George.

Still wasn't prepared for the eventual gif of the injury. Just awful.

Yeah sucks to see, I still remember how sick to my stomach I was when Rose went down a few years back.
