Seeing how the Cavs and Bulls both want Love, I think I figured out a compromise, if the Bulls and the Cavs don't mind.

To Bulls:
2015 draft picks from Cleveland
2015 protected picks from Miami and Memphis

Reasoning: consolation prize for the Kevin Love sweepstakes and three draft picks to build around, post-Derrick Rose.

To Timberwolves:
Taj Gibson
Mirotic
McDermott

Reasoning: Flip Saunders don't want a rebuild, as these three would immediately contribute to the Timberwolves in the immediate future.

To Cavs:
Kevin Love
Kevin Martin

Reasoning: why not both Kevin Love and Andrew Wiggins in the same team? Blatt gets to keep Wiggins, while LeBron gets to play with both Kevin Love and Andrew Wiggins. Besides, Kevin used to play C for Minnesota, while Kevin Martin is also from Ohio.

Even if the Cavs get Love, the Bulls are still a top-two team in the East. Why blow it up? Why trade Mirotic, a guy that only came over because he had assurance he'd be a Bull? Why trade the summer league MVP? Yeah, it's summer league, but he has a natural shooting touch. Why trade Taj? You take three incredibly key pieces that you deal for futures. Miami is a middle-of-the-pack team now. Memphis and Cleveland are good. What are the odds that these late-round picks become the quality of assets the Bulls already have and can win with right now? I honestly am so puzzled why this is even a suggestion. Not only do the Bulls get hosed, but they facilitate a great shooter and a top-ten player in the NBA within their own conference and division. Hope you were kidding, because this is truly a putrid proposal. Lord have mercy.

EDIT: And the Cavs keep Wiggins?

You literally just suggested to blow up the depth of Bulls to facilitate a trade that's most likely already happening that helps Cleveland. Lost for words. Truly.

1. Still, a potential Top 2 ECF seed is completely dependent on Derrick Rose's health, to the point he's the subject of the meme, "...before Derrick Rose comes back." :shakehead:help:

2. Those three were the suggested trade pieces for Kevin Love to the Bulls proposal, according to this CBS article.

3. Those proposed draft picks all come down to the depth of the 2015 NBA Draft.

4. Yeah, I did not realize how important those three are to the Bulls. :shakehead:( How would you counter-propose instead, while keeping those three in Chicago?

5. Why not? Love would be able to mentor Wiggins. :naughty:

The NBA Draft's depth is never going to get you an impact player right away of the caliber those three guys are to the Bulls. Are you a Bulls fan?

The Bulls aren't facilitating a trade that puts them a distance away from being the best team in the East. Not a difficult concept.

Here is my counter proposal for you:

To Cleveland: Love and maybe Martin
To Minnesota: Wiggins, Waiters, Thompson, and futures

The Bulls are only "in" trade discussions to give Minnesota more leverage. They want Cleveland to lose assets, not gain. The Bulls are in this to win. They were very aggressive this summer, and they still are trying to get Cleveland to cough up more than they want to in order to please LeBron.

Tim, I'm sorry if I am being harsh, but I think you don't realize these few things. Let me try to help.

1. The Bulls want Cleveland to lose assets. They will not help facilitate them keeping key assets (Wiggins) and bringing in new (Love and maybe Martin).
2. The Bulls are involved in Love trade talks because they want to put pressure on the Cavs to give up more if Minnesota likes their assets the best, which they reportedly do.
3. Without Wiggins in a deal, Love will not become a Cav.
4. Mirotic is only signed to an NBA contract because the Bulls promised him he'd be a Bull and would not be flipped before he ever dons the uniform on the court.
5. Late-round NBA Draft picks aren't as valuable as you think. Miami, Cleveland, and Memphis aren't lottery teams.

Basically, this is nothing more than a bluff by the Bulls. Wow.

Yeah, typing those at 3am Central Time...

The rumors about the Bulls are coming from Minnesota. The Wolves want leverage in a deal. If Cleveland thinks the Bulls, a team in their conference and division pose a big threat to them acquiring Love, they will up the ante. However, it's pretty obvious the Bulls have no genuine interest in Love. They have interest in making the Cavs give up more assets if they can.

Besides Beer, Cult Of Cubs Fans Blindly Drink The Kool-Aid

I didn’t grow up in the Chicago area, so I have no rooting allegiance to either local baseball team. But as someone who prefers the National League, I’ve spent more time watching the Cubs in the 20 years I’ve lived here and I was a season ticket-holder at one point.

Still, one of my favorite pastimes is making fun of Cubs fans, specifically, how blindly loyal they are and how they have unquestioned faith in every rebuilding plan put in place to get the team to the World Series...

I bring this up now because there’s a great video done by the Chicago Tribune’s Redeye where Cubs fans are interviewed outside the ballpark and given a fake name of a Cubs prospect and asked to comment. It’s hilarious how many talk about the player -- who doesn’t exist -- with an air of authority as if they’ve followed his progression through the minor leagues.

Besides being a gut-buster, the clip demonstrates the blind loyalty of Cubs fans, because all of the comments are positive.

According to you? They will probably end up in the middle of the table (and the odds reflect that).

They're losing almost all of their attackers, their one that is staying is coming off of an ACL injury in April, they've lost 50% of their back 4 and their coach. They are in trouble. I think Pochettino may be the biggest loss, he saved them 2 years ago.

Yes they are in trouble of not repeating last year's success, not in trouble of being relegated. There is still time for them to bring people in.

One of the comments for that clip was hilarious...

JASON YATUNG is not an anagram for JUST PLAYING (only 8 of the 11 letters match). Looks like these Cubs fans aren't the only ones making stuff up.

Also, that guy in the blue jersey is a pro bull****ter and will probably rise quickly through the ranks of his company.

oh please.

do the same thing to Sox fans, and you will get the same results. People dont want to look stupid on camera that they dont know something that they should. It is fear of looking like your not as big of a fan as you shoud be. Sox fans wouldn't fair any different if they felt pressure on camera.

Would it be wrong of me to backtrack and say Soler will get called up in September? I think he will and after reading some of the behind the scenes stuff I think he will make it.

There's no contract barrier for Soler like there is with other prospects. If he's not injured, he'll be in Chicago when Iowa's season is over.
