Just to burn off all the gunk from christmas. Ideally Id like to go from 195 to 180 with about a body fat reduction to about 12%.

I usually try a new system every year. If I like I stick with it for the entire year. If I don't I revert back to my favorite exercise system (so far the original P90X). I usually go hard from March-Novemeber and then take off December, January & February.

This one is by the same guy who created insanity but it is a 25 minute program. It is perfect for me since I really don't have 1 hour + to dedicate to exercising when I am traveling. I can take this with me and do it in my hotel room for 25 minutes and be done.

These high-intensity workouts are a great way to burn off the holiday fat. I just looked at the website and it seems to have all the right ingredients for fat loss: Short rest periods, band work, etc.. The one thing I can't stress enough though is that the workout is merely there to supplement your diet. You can't out-exercise a bad eating routine.

You can drop 15 pounds in 8 weeks if you're discipline in the kitchen. There are a million different strategies and there's no right or wrong way to do things. It all comes down to what works for you but the magic number is 3500. You lose a pound for every 3500 calorie deficit you create. So if your maintenance level is 2200 calories, then you can eat 15400 calories over the course of the week and neither gain nor lose weight. So if you want to lose 1lb over the course of a week eat (15400 - 3500) 11900 calories. Divide those up over seven days however you want. 1700 if you want to be consistent. Or lower for six days if you want to throw in a cheat day. Don't worry too much about macornutrient content but there are ways to structure your meals to take advantage of your hormones and your metabolism.

Talking about weight loss, I weighed in at 186 at the doctor's office 5-6 weeks ago. I weighed in at 174 the other day. Trying to make a conscious effort to diet right.

Awesome!

It's a process. Aim for clean food 75% of the time. Cheat days are important for a couple of reasons: 1) they keep you sane and 2) they show you how much better you feel on the days you eat right.

This is pretty much what happens to me. After starting my diet, whenever I have a cheat meal, I feel disgusted in myself, even though it's delicious.

I keep alternating between Chipotle and Muscle Maker Grill. Haven't had an pizza or burgers in a while.

Don't think I've had any cheat days so far really. Need to go to Five Guyd soon.

I keep telling myself to go to the gym but I never go although I'm going to start playing basketball again at least once a week until the summer where it'll most likely be closer to three to four times a week

I want to exercise but firing that into my schedule is tough. What I plan in doing is joining a men's league for hockey. Keep in shape and have some fun.

It is interesting you say that. The myfitnesspal app on my iPhone has been a godsend for keeping track of calories. Going to keep it around 1500. The workout itself will burn roughly 400 calories. Puts me right on the fat burning/storing threshold of 1100 to 1200. over 7 days that is 8400 calories (1 cheat day would put me around 9200-9500.

I usually do a Chobani or activia yogurt in the morning (whatever my hotel has) and a cup of coffee. Grilled chicken salad from Wendy's for lunch and then a grilled chicken salad from Chick Fil A at night.

Just finished the first workout. WOW. The only routine that I have had be that intense to both tire me out and cause a burn in my legs was plyometrics on P90X. Then again it was my first day of it and haven't done much in terms of working out over the last 3 months. Still. Great first day.

I've started playing soccer again after like 8 months of lazy

Running feels more comfortable every day

its such a change from going from being nonactive to actually running and doing something. I was completely gassed 5 minutes into playing basketball this past Friday. I want to play soccer again though, haven't played an actual game or a pickup game for a good year or so.

I've learned its better to aim for "cheat meals" rather than "cheat days". If you give yourself a full day to cheat, its way easier to over eat all day and justify it by calling it your cheat day. In the end, it comes down to discipline, but limiting bad decisions to one meal every 3-4 days is a better way to go IMO.

True detectives playing out exactly how I thought it would from episode two. Still waiting for the big twist to become apparent. Everything has been too linear thus far.

The last episode was great. Does lawnmower man have facial scars or was I seeing things?

OMG yessssss. Beth wants the D. Or she's dyin. One of the two.

Also, regarding exercise I believe playing 60 mins of hockey 3 times a week with extra practice time in should cover it for me.

I love the show, but I get so annoyed at the dialogue sometimes. Too often will character A be in some weird mood and when character B tries to initiate conversation, character A says absolutely nothing and gives B the cold shoulder. Sometimes for no reason at all.

****ing knew lawnmower man was involved. Called that from the beginning. The minute I saw the scars on him and they talked about the scars, it connected. Plus, he was a random speaking character that had no reason for existing unless he was involved later in the story.
