Taylor Hawkins died. Young at 50yrs of age. RIP. The perfect drummer to take over the drum kid for the legendary Dave Grohl so that he may be a rock and roll frontman is gone. Sad day.

I go way back with Taylor. Saw him first as drummer for Sass Jordan. We were in Halifax and in mood to see any kind of show. He then went onto Alannis Morisette, then got the big gig with the Foo Fighters.

The one thing you remember always with him is he was so full of life. Sad day.

it's a good show through the windshield
I was up in Skagway, Whitehorse, Atlin about 30 years ago. Really nice country.

Edit - took the ferry to Juneau. Got in late. Asked the taxi driver to take me a 24 hour place. He said there were not any. Had to crash in the lobby of a hotel. Nice guy ran the Hotel. Smoked a bunch of American cigarettes and almost had a heart attack. Saw a bear. Good times.

I am heartbroken by this. Just wrecked right now. He brought such an amazing energy to the stage.

Chris Rock said to Jada Pinkett Smith a joke about GI Jane 2 (her head is shaved due to alopecia) and this was the aftermath.

Yay television

Imagine walking up and bitch slapping another man because “man said mean joke”. What a f***ing baby.

Man up and deal with it like an adult. Address it afterwards or if you feel like you really need to touch another man, challenge him to a fight.

Doing this is not just a straight up crime but also makes you look like a colossal bitch. Jeez Louise, clean up Aisle 4 looks wittle will smith junked his jeans again.

I dunno man. If my wife had a terrible disease that one of the effects of it made her hair fall out and the MC joked about it on live international TV I’d probably do the same thing. Chris Rock is a dick anyway.

Besides the Oscar’s are looking for more viewers. I’m watching next year now for sure!

Idk man, I'm under the impression that society and we as a species have evolved beyond the need to settle disagreements with physical engagements. It's why we created languages and laws.

It's also incumbent on people to control your emotions regardless of the situation. There are places for people who can't control their emotions, they're called prisons. If anyone other than a celebrity did this in any other situation they wouldn't be going back to their seat, they'd be led away in cuffs.

There are so many assholes out there that can get away with so much shit because the laws protect them that it is beyond ridiculous. IMO we could use a little more of assholes getting their asses stomped (within reason).

I agree with your basic premise but…..You do know they fight in hockey right?

Also See; Russian invasion of Ukraine, subheading - unlimited indiscriminate use of thermobaric, cluster and thermite artillery and aerial bombs on civilian targets including but not limited to double tapping hospitals, schools, humanitarian convoys, maternity wards, and theatres used as bomb shelters which are clearly marked children in massive capital letters.

I have zero faith in Human society as a whole to do the right thing in 99% of most cases.

Don’t feel sorry for Chris Rock. He crossed a line and got what was coming to him. If he wants to press assault charges he can. There are an awful lot of witnesses.

Don't know about that, I have seen loads of people taking and giving slaps to the face and no cops or cuffs in sight. Heck, I have taken a couple myself.

In any case, it is kind of hard to picture the situation in which any other than a celebrity would have someone else making jokes about his wife's looks (due to a disease no less) in front of them and a room full of people. And I am hard pressed to think of anyone who would be ok with that. The difference comes from that it is celebrities and the Oscar's, where they should just keep laughing at jokes made on theirs and others behalf. You could even see if just before, when he kept on laughing, they are so used to it that they hardly even listen, just keep smiling, once it sunk in though he reacted.

I am also completely ok with if Rock press assault charges (doubt it though), it is his right and he was assaulted. But he also made a completely inappropriate joke about the looks of a woman, which in any situation should be unacceptable, in front of her husband, the room and audience. In no way do I feel sorry for what happened to him.
