This part is disconnected, and its in the OT thread so not OT. but my heart goes out to the many people that were pulled from their homes, families, that were not offered option of remaining home, or palliative care in home, or just seeing out their condition at home. Many of those people died, and many died in ICU, alone, without any goodbye, without any loved ones faces, just dying in the company of strangers.
As a human in love with my wife, and vice versa, our biggest fear as a couple is that we would contract covid and die alone. Like occurred to so many other people. This, to us, would have been a crime of sorts, a worst ending than the disease itself. We can both handle dying, we both accept we will, we prefer to be in each others arms if possible the moment it occurs. So many couples were robbed of this basic dignity during the pandemic. A crime against lifelong relationships. Was just moved by the experiences of others that we know personally, or heard about, to state this.
