we should not be defeatist and accept 'stuck w/Mika'.
Don't play-> break him -> deal -> yes eat 4.25 to get it done stop being greedy

we should ask Igor if he'd waive for LA
even tho we don't need permission now but will later
if yes then get a better deal from Kings
Shesty + for Byfield

like the bold
I think I started that one
We have the same idea. But until I see Lavi scratch Ziba even one game, this idea is pure fantasy. It just can't happen if the staff is unwilling to hold him accountable.

Shesty should be fully tradeable before the extension kicks in. I called you out without calling you out there. I'm quite sure Drury is all in on Shesty so that's why I categorize it as unlikely. Plus that's like your bag. I don't need to retread in your phD thesis.

And with the Cap space acquire 2 elite players through UFA or trades...we could be back in the ECF in 2 years

It’s why this talk of “rebuilds” is so childish. The Rangers are evaluating the team. Drury has made some dumb moves and handled things with a heavy hand, but in terms of knowing what type of player the team needs, and being willing to give chances to the youth, he’s been consistent.

More moves are coming, I’ve liked the ones he’s made so far. I expect Lindgren and Kreider to be moved before the season is over. And Panarin and Zibanejad will be approached in the summer. We’re going to get younger and more assets by default when these guys are moved. Well most likely get better as well.

Isn’t this the guy who only became “famous” because of his Church of Kakko schtick? And doesn’t he just spend his time passing off his feelings and speculation as legit information to the casuals on Twitter and Reddit that think he’s some kind of insider?
He also cashed in his internet clout to put up the Eichel to Rangers billboards in Buffalo, which made the Sabres owner refuse to trade him to the Rangers. But hey he has all those weirdo followers that would probably rather have the memes than Eichel anyway. Shitpost your way to the top!

Hate to say it, but I almost entirely agree with him whoooooooboy
It would be great if when Ranger fan’s watch the Avery interview they separate the wheat from the chaff.
Ignore the comedy bits and the trade pieces that he mentions which don’t add up and focus on the team coaching, players psyche, player evaluations, state of the organization and moving on from certain players.

If they trade Perreault or any top draft picks... might just be the end for a lot of us.

The prospect pipeline is also approaching 2017 levels. There's almost nothing left on defense and only a handful of interesting wingers.
I have no problem trading Gabe but it has to be for a long term solution. A corner stone piece

So trade in place for Kreider ?

Can't trade until Friday I think?

Edit: Sorry 1201am ET Saturday. Could be though since the Rangers don't play again until Saturday night. Have to see if any players/prospects are getting sat today/Friday as well from other potential destinations.

Short?
Our best prospect is a top 10 in the nhl according to most sources.
We have 2 defenseman who are nhl projected.
One additional forward who might make it.
For a team that should’ve been a playoff team again, with youth on the roster, that’s a deep prospect pool.

When you have roster spots locked in you don’t need 15 prospects, you need 5-6.

There are valid reasons to shit on Drury.
But his prospect pool isn’t really one of them, nor is his drafting. I wish he’d take centers early but the boards have fallen in a way that we’d have railed at him if he did.

I wasn't meaning the prospect pool, I was talking literally about the draft picks we have made and the ones we have coming up. I tend to agree, I think we have drafted well with a lesser amount of picks actually. Might not be quite as hot on the prospect pool as you are, but with many of them making the big club, I agree we have drafted well.

The inability to draft a C, anyone, not even hitting a seventh or finding a steal like Igor in the third by dumb luck, it has bemused me for more years than I care to remember. I don't think we help the situation by regularly (outwith a few specific examples) refusing to pick them in later rounds or drafting the eighty ninth LW in the top rounds.

1- You keep making this suggestion re: Zibanejad. I've explained it to you before. Sitting a guy for a game here and there to send a message? That's fine. Sitting a player for a short span--with that player on board--to avoid injury while you explore a trade? That's fine. Benching a player in perpetuity in an attempt to strongarm them into giving up a right they have in their contract? If Drury tried it, I can not only guarantee that the players union would protest it and win, but the league would also likely sanction the Rangers. That's bush league shit, and no team in this league would do it. I like the fact that you have outside-the-box ideas. It's why I tend to engage with you while others block. But this isn't outside-the-box. This is something that will never happen, and if it did happen, the team would be punished for trying to do it.

2- There is no way that the Rangers add to Shesterkin for Byfield. None. Goalies may not have huge value, but Byfield is basically Kakko with powerplay time. What'd Kakko return again? Nothing close to a top goalie in the league. And I'm saying this as someone who was leaning towards trading Shesty before they signed him to that extension.

The Rangers have a very solid prospect pipeline. The people who are blaming that for the teams downfall are missing the point. We pay 8.5 for a 1C who produces like a 3C at ES. And Kreider’s game has fallen off a cliff. Panarin is getting more banged up with each year, and less able to bounce back. This has led to bad habits seeping into the entire lineup.

You want to talk about the pipeline, you look a Cuylle (our best player) and Berard and Edstrom(our fastest and best forecheckers. All have debuted in the last year+. I expect more from Othmann, Perrault, Sykora, Laba, types of the horizon. Drury and co can draft and develop.

The team needs to rely on its young core more and ship out the aging vets. It’s time.
speaking only to the bold
It's been time for a couple of years
It's about time peeps are coming around to my preaching on this...

1. glad you and I are somewhat on the same pg, even if inexactly.
2. Eff Lavi, an idea either has merit or it doesn't based on particular actual facts, or if lacking that, the appearance of what is closest to that
That a coach wants to be stupid and play vets possibly bc its in his best interest does not mean we have to adopt that.
3. I concur w/yr remarks on Shesty
we should see if we can't talk him into letting us sell him high, in return he gets relocated to a good destination/fit
4. As to the phD etc, as you know bern welcomes competition of ideas

1. Hey I respect yr op, but that does not mean I have to accept it. And vice versa!
As I explained, if it is done for lack of performance IT can be done.

2. You underrate Byfield upside. If you don't want that is something else
But if you do, we gotta pay and its gonna hurt
But at least it is a foundation piece in area of need
imo

The Rangers have a very solid prospect pipeline.

We have like 2 NHL caliber wings and and one defenseman not currently in the NHL.

Not sure what you are talking about.

And of the young players in the NHL there is almost nothing that is quality top 6 material.

Lafreniere. That's it.

Jt. Miller for Trocheck and Schneider. Say "Yes".

Jt. Miller Panarin and Lafen om a line would dominate. Jt and Panarin would both end up over 100 pts easily.
