Wish it was a larger number, but a good plan nevertheless.
My son traded his rarely-used Nintendo Switch in towards credit for a new Xbox Series S. He wants to connect it to a gaming monitor but I'm getting so much conflicting information. One guy I talked to at Visions said if we're using a console on a pc monitor, we need to get a 240 hz monitor, which makes zero sense to me. He was saying they get tons of returns on monitors because if this but it sounds more like people not knowing how to adjust settings properly.
General consensus on reddit and YT from computer techs, or at least they seem like pretty smart techs, say to grab one at minimum of 1080p and 120 hz but preferably 1440p and 144 hz or 165 hz. We're looking at 32 inch screen size as well, maybe as small 27 or 28.
I'm from the age of hook it up by coax and off you go. For you gamers out there who use a console on a gaming monitor, what do you recommend or suggest?
I have my eye on this LG 32GK60W.

I'm assuming it's like a with PC where your monitor's refresh rate is pretty much useless beyond whatever frames-per-second you can run a game at.
By the looks of it, the Series S tops out at 120 FPS, so anything in that 120-165hz range is definitely enough.
It's been a few years since I bought a monitor and haven't used one for consoles, but I've heard good things about LG monitors. I know some of the models have been in short supply though. It took a buddy of mine a few months to track one down recently.
Bought several cases of Bubly a week ago and tried the peach. It was almost all carbonated water with a weak taste of peach. So, I ordered a bag of citric acid to see if it brings the taste out. Right now, I'm on the lime. The taste does come out. There is an aftertaste, though, as the acid is not sweetened.
I tried a can of Bubly once...bleh, as you said the taste was weak and like drinking straight carbonated water. I tried a case of the orange/citrus AHA. Waaaaay better. You can actually taste the flavor. I put a splash of stevia in it to sweeten it up a bit.
Another good brand to try are those Italian sodas San Pellegrino. They're a bit pricier but the wild strawberry one is really good.
The grapefruit is probably the best. I like the lime too. Its acquired tasted I guess. Its better if really chilled, and maybe even some ice, and like any refreshment tastes better when you are thirsty, hot, or parched. I sure wouldn't be putting citric acid in it. I find anything too acidic now is not good for me at my age. Even red wine which I used to enjoy, it bothers me now if I drink it late in evening. Congratulations to the the CAC Edmonton U16AAA provincial champions.
They beat the Calgary Royals in the gold medal game in Grande Prairie today.
The son of a very good friend of mine plays on the team.
