I hear what you are saying, but trust me the experience of a 14 year old girl is not something you just deal with, for them it is like cancer. Because at that age they are invincible.

I feel like I am arguing for the guy in the wrong here, but at the end of the day I am saying that a person over-reacting over a mean insult against his wife is nothing to rage against.
Let be honest though, the insult wasn't THAT mean in the grand scheme of things. Chris Rock never even said anything about her condition specifically. He just made a joke that she's playing in a movie as the next shaved head woman.

The rage against a guy who literally assaulted an unsuspecting man in front of millions is warranted. Not only was it completely uncalled for, it also could have damaged Chris Rock's career, his own career and made his wife look weak as a "I'm the protector of the family so I need to stand up for the little woman" thing.
Eventually it'll all cool down but, make no mistake, there was only one person in the wrong here and it wasn't Chris Rock.

Here's a very thoughtful article that Kareem Abdul-Jabbar posted that touches on a lot of what I'm talking about. It's a good read when you have the time...

I thought this guy (Flash in Justice League) was a f***ing loser and turned off the movie because I couldn’t stand that this asshole was in it (I literally had never seen him before, he just vibed like a :eek::eek::eek:.)

I will interview your daughters’ dating prospects for a nominal fee of $69 if you want my special judging abilities to assist your family.

Looks like my judgements were right this time:

Will Smith Did a Bad, Bad Thing

Great article. I had to specifically look up Tiffany Haddish to see what kind of imbecile would be romanticizing over a man aggressing. Being that often times women witness the same they can be on the receiving end of it. Imagine a women worshipping violent response. I don't get it. "The most beautiful thing she's seen" seriously? Who are these people?

As the article astutely mentions the notion that women need protection of knights in shining armor is as archaic and backwards as it gets.

One of the terrible things it seems about life, generationally, is that each generation has to ponder and pause and learn about forms of right and wrong and being almost forever confused by something as simple as what you should not do. The worse thing is that as far as hollywood, generally, these are the worst role models. As Jim Carrey said. "looks like we're not the cool kids anymore" he's lambasting hollywood culture that cheers Will Smith on in an action like this, that even he thinks was wrong.

Welp, I just saw this crime against architecture, and now you must see it too!

They put both columns there because theres a massive sink hole just to the right. Kind of jk, kind of wondering whats up. Theres wet paving stones all just in one area there. This would suggest this whole house was built low just above water table and I'm wondering if water table is right around there. Or somebody washed the car....lol

But seriously. Take a close look at the driveway. Significant "settling is visible and obvious there and potentially a problem. I mean thats settling just from a driveway.

But really the whole house design and exterior is a crime. What is even the purpose of that butt ugly overhang, a small run of bricks, and the rest siding. Such a missmash. Only thing worse is somebody will paint the bricks grey some day.

I think that in the very first post I did on this I said that "regardless of condition", specifically because I don't think it is the most important factor in all of this.

In any case, essentially we have one big disagreement, which I doubt we will resolve. I read your position as if alocepia is something that a person should just move on from and that it is not a big deal, I disagree. I base that from the experience of having a family member that has is and from reading up on it because of that. There is no disagreement on that the condition of someone like Stelter is on a whole other level.

What I am trying to say is that the point of all this is not to pitch one thing against the other, because that shouldn't matter. Also because there is a long list of things in between suffering from potentially terminal cancer and not suffering from anything. We'd have to go down that list and find where the cut-off point is, which would be a subjective based on who you are.

Can you make a bald joke about a man that not suffering from a condition but just lost his hair?
Can you make a bald joke about a woman that not suffering from a condition but just lost his hair?
Can you make a bald joke about a woman losing her hair due to a disease?
Can you make a bald joke about a person suffering from non-terminal cancer, but is going though chemotherapy to reduce a tumor before removing it?
Finally, can you make that joke about a person suffering from potentially terminal cancer?

Whatever your answer is to any of those, would anyone of these merit a slap in the face? I would say no, so as I said Smith is in the wrong here, doesn't mean that I don't think joking about it isn't mean and stupid. That was and is my whole point in all of this, but I probably did not express it very well. I very much respect your opinion and like to discuss with you. I did not mean for the discussion to take a bad turn, so I will move on as well.
Actually , I think losing your hair (as in bald men), IS actually a condition. Male pattern baldness. Poor bastards.

I think society is a little too sensitive. Rock could have made a joke about someones with, size of noggin, etc. Hell, I remember Johnny Carson getting torched for all of his divorces on a weekly basis. People need to throttle back a bit.

It all comes down to the perception of the condition, or disease, in question. It is very much clear that my perception of this is different from most others here. That difference of opinion is perfectly fine, but it is context to understand why I got into this discussion (and why I think it is time for me to get out of it ).

Two of my favorite comedians are Billy Burr and Jimmy Carr, so I don't think in general you would put me in the overly-sensitive camp when it comes to comedy :thumbu:

I kind of laughed. Because it seemed like an atypical position for you to take, I mean just from what I've read from you. heh. Because I sensed you're not too sensitive, and somewhat sensible. heh

All joking aside its natural that people are specifically influenced by the relations and events that they have experienced directly, or through loved ones. I get it.

Well duh, we already knew that people from Calgary are f***ing stupid
That would explain so much. But lol just having that much driveway is stupid from my perspective. That said I like gardening and using sq footage for more sensible things than having a mansion like size of driveway. Not that this looks like any mansion.

All good man, I don't perceive you as one of those over-sensitive nutbars at all or even anything remotely close to it. Probably just as well to let this one rest, as you say, and chaulk it up as a another Tinseltown brawl.
